Interesting Rematches Happening During this 2019 Season(Part 1)
Terrell Bush DB #21 CHC v DJ McLean WR #4 Mansfield 10/18 CHC @ MU

This is one of the better 1v1 match ups of the upcoming season. The rematch is going down 9/21 @Mansfield. Bush got the better of McLean in their last meeting. While McLean did have 4 catches for 107 in the last meeting there is some context that is required. Bush held McLean to 1 catch in the first half which was apart of the reason CHC led 38 to 6 at halftime. Because of the big lead CHC then pulled their defensive starters. Mansfield did manage to cut the lead forcing CHC to put some of their starters back in. After this, then McLean managed to make some plays on Bush. But regardless the day went to Bush as McLean was thrown at 11 times while Bush was covering him but only caught 4 passes. CHC won the game 59-44. Both teams will be looking for their respective stars to have a big game. This match up could be the indicator for who will win the game.
Grant Hooper DB Navy #3 v Tom Williamson WR #80 Army 9/20 Army @ Navy

This is a match up I need more of. Hooper and Williamson are both all-league talents who are leaders on their teams. This match up has been more like a short trailer more than a blockbuster. Partly because of how they are used for each of their teams they didn’t run into each other that often last season. Their most important encounter came during the CSFL title game. Williamson spent most of the game away from Grant until the fourth quarter started. As the game started getting tight then the star match up finally happened. Williamson had 4 passes thrown his way while Hooper was covering him, but Hooper shut that down only allowing 1 catch. The entire navy secondary did a great job shutting down Williamson, who did not show up the way Army needed him to in that title game. He should be itching to get a chance to redeem himself against Navy and that starts with the match up against Hooper.
Will Griffen #4 RB Cornell v Aaron Johnson #23 LB ( UPenn Defense) 9/20 UPenn @ Cornell

Griffen should have this game circled on his calendar. UPenn had a dominating defense last season that completely and utterly shut him down when they last meet. Griffen only managed to gain 23 rushing yards and 1 catch for -4 yards. Holding one of the better backs in the league to such pedestrian numbers is a W for the UPenn defense. But that defense is gone, and a new season is among us. If Cornell hopes to win this time around Griffen will have to lead the way and put on an elite performance. Aaron Johnson will lead a revamped UPenn defense that looks to dominate Griffen and Cornell once again.
Kiel McKenzie #17 QB Stac v Royce Francisco Caldwell #3 LB/ Colin Williams #84 DE 9/21 Caldwell @ STAC

This will be one of the more interesting games to watch next season. Sophomore QB #17 Kiel McKenzie should be the new starter next season at Stac. Last year he had to watch as Sr. QB Luke Sulivan threw for 321 yards and 5 tds against Caldwell. McKenize will be looking to have similar success against Caldwell’s defense. For that not to happen juniors Colin Williams #84 DE and Royce Francisco #3 LB will have to play big. Francisco snapped during their last meeting finishing with 11 tackles and 4.5tfl, while Colin Williams #84 DE only finished with 3 tackles and 1tfl. Will the new young gun step up and lead his team to victory or will the seasoned cougars finally breakthrough and avenge the loss they suffered last season.
