Week 7 Review

Penn v Alderson Broaddus: PENN WIN 38-7

Player of the game- Sr TE Ben Klaus 8rec 86yards 3TD

Penn continues to roll as the season heads into its final week. Jr QB Andrew Paolini continues his impressive play throwing for 239yards 3TD. This is the 4th game this season that Paolini has thrown for 3+ touchdowns. Sr RB Laquan Mckever continues his assault on the record books as he rushed for 110yards 2TD. This is the 5th 100+yard rushing game and 5th 2+rushing touchdown game. Not to be outdone Sr TE Ben Klaus had an incredible night as well. The versatile TE finished with 8rec 86yards 3TD. Klaus continues to prove he is the best tight end in the league and one of the best the best tight ends in CSFL history. The Penn defense stopped the Battlers with a balanced attack. Jr DL Travis Legum had a impact finishing with 4tackles 3tfl 0.5sack. Penn finishes the season at home next week vs Navy.

AB finishes their season with a loss but there were bright spots in the game and during the season. Jr QB Timmy Tillman finished the night with 187yards 1TD. The Jr has been a leader and one of the only constants the AB offense has had all season. Some individual development and growth from the supporting cast should help Tillman lead AB towards a brighter future. Fr TE Jacob Perez had the best game of his young career finishing with 6rec 60yards and Jr WR Shamon Gennes finished with 7rec 48yards. Gennes proved to be a reliable threat on the outside throughout the season and should certainly be an ALL Conference and All CSFL HUB award recipient. Fr LB Romell Pumphrey had maybe the best game of his young career finishing with 12tackles. Soph Austin Bradley added 6tackles 1tfl 1sack. AB prepares for a bright future despite any shortcomings this season.

Mansfield v Navy: NAVY WIN 46-3

Player of the game- Sr RB Matthew McGee 82rushing yards 3TD

The Navy rushing attack proved to be to much for Mansfield to handle. The passing game under Sr QB William Leong did just enough to keep the Mansfield defense honest. Leong who got his 2nd start of the season finished with 115yards 1TD.  The running game was spearheaded by Sr RB Matthew McGee who finished with 82yards 3TD. So Tyler Massena and Jr Alex Totta combined for 165yards 2TD. So WR Andrew Margiotta continues to show that he is the best receiver Navy has had in quite some time. The budding star finished with 5rec 64yards 1TD. I am excited to see what the young star can accomplish throughout his career. A well balanced defensive attack kept the MU offense in check. Navy held Mansfield to under 100yards of total offense. Sr DL Jake Karczewski had an impressive night finishing with 6tackles 2.5tfl 1sack. Navy hits the road for the final week of the regular season to visit Penn.

Mansfield couldn’t get things going at all offensively vs Navy. Fr QBs Cahsid Raymond and Ben Briggs threw for 52passing yards.  Raymond also finished as the teams leading rusher with 46yards.  Poor weather and a stifling defense proved to be to much for Mansfield. Defensively Mansfield showed more life. Jr LB Matt Robert led the team with 15tackles. This marks Robert’s 4th game this season with 10+tackles. Sr LB Chase Moser added 8tackles 2.5tfl. Mansfield heads back home to welcome Caldwell for one final CSFL North matchup.

Cornell v Chestnut Hill : CORNELL WIN 6-0

Player of the Game- Jr RB Jacob Wynkoop 189yards

Cornell took home the win in this absolute mud bowl. The game quickly turned into who could run the ball more affectively. Cornell gave the ball to Jr RB Jacob Wynkoop who turned out 189yards to lead the team to victory. Wynkoop continues to be the catalyst of this Cornell offense. Jr QB Xavier Martinez scored the lone touchdown of the night on a 6yard run towards the end of the 1st quarter.  Defensively Soph LB Will Anderson had an impressive night finishing with 10tackles 2tfl. Cornell heads back home to finish the season vs Army.

Chestnut Hill lost the game of attrition.  Weather conditions quickly turned the game into a one-dimensional game. 1 pass was completed between both teams. The Griffins used a stable of freshmen ball carriers to attack the Cornell defense. Fr RB Anthony Broderi, who is the teams leading rusher, led the way with 57 yards. Soph ATH Lonnie Cebulski added 42yards and Fr RB Ira Baine added 37yards. Fr DB Meech Laylor led the way for the Griffins with 7tackles. It was a tough day for both teams on both sides of the ball. Chestnut Hill ends their season at STAC next week.

Army v Caldwell: ARMY WINS 4-2

Player of the game -Sr DL Alex Sobeski 4tackles 3tfl 1sack 1fr

Army and Caldwell went down to the wire to decide the CSFL North. Horrific weather conditions impacted both teams but Army managed to hand on to take the win after 5 overtimes. Some crucial runs by Sr QB JC Watson help secure the win. Fr RB Landry Songer led the way on the ground for Army finishing with 81rushing yards. Defensively So LB Luke Gigliotti led the way with 7tackles 2tfl 1sack. Sr DL Alex Sobeski had another dominant performance coming of the edge finishing with 4tackles 3tfl 1sack 1fr. The Sr defensive end continues to harass opposing offenses. Army hits the road next week to take on Cornell.

This was the 2nd multiple OT game this season and just like the other game both teams deserve a round of applause for the effort they put forth. Jr QB Frank DeMaio threw for a steady 115yards despite the terrible conditions. Sr RB Carl Watson took the lead as the primary ball carrier and finished with 52rushing yards. So WR Nadir Orsini made a big play early and finished the night with 3rec 52yards. On the other side of the ball Fr LB Andrew Conklin and Jr DL Michael Lohrman had 11tackles a piece. Soph DL Messiah Porter caused some havoc coming off of the edge finishing with 3tackles 1tfl 1sack.  Caldwell finishes their season with one last CSFL matchup at Mansfield.
