Army v Navy: NAVY WIN 9-7

Player of the game- Sr DB Adam Weissenfels 11tackles 2int 3pbu &  Sr LB Mike Garnett 8tackles 0.5tfl 1ff 2fr & Matthew McGee RB 129rushing yards 1TD.

 The final game of the season was one for the ages. This defensive battle was a classic back and fourth between both teams. The game was a star-studded affair with the elite players on both team stepping up and making plays. For the Navy offense the star of the day was Sr RB Matthew McGee who finished his career off with a bang rushing for 129yards 1 TD. McGee’s run late in the 4^th sealed the game Navy. The star running back has been the catalyst for the Navy all season and this game was no different. On the defensive side of the ball Sr DB Adam Weissenfels held it down in the secondary. The lockdown DB made multiple acrobatic plays on the ball and went toe to toe with Army’s best receiver Donovan Mannion.  Sr LB Mike Garnett showed once again how impactful he can be. The Sr linebacker was constantly near the ball making plays just like he has done all season. Navy finishes the season undefeated and is your 2021 CSFL Champion.

Army put up a great fight but couldn’t get it done. Jr WR  Donovan Mannion kept Army in the game. The lone offensive star finished with 6rec 53yards. Mannion commanded the attention of multiple defenders throughout the game and made difficult and timely catches all afternoon. Mannion proved that he is a go to receiver and should have a big year next season.  The quarterback play wasn’t there for Army in this game. Sr QB JC Watson ended his career on the bench after being pulled midway through the 2^nd quarter. He threw for 30yards with 1int. Soph QB Mikal Willeke came in and gave the Army offense some life for a time but he ended up struggling as well finishing with 92yards 2int 21rushing yards 1TD. Willeke’s rushing TD was the lone Army TD of the day.  Sr LB David Dickerson went all out for his last game finishing with 12tackles 2tfl. The Sr has been a menace to opposing offenses and had a spectacular final season. Jr DL Brendan Windsor had a great outing as well finishing with 11tackles 1tfl 0.5sack. Windsor is a joy to watch and will be one of the best interior defensive linemen next season. Army finishes their season as CSFL North Champs.
