CSFL

Army v STAC: Army Win 53-9

Player of the game: Jr QB Mikal Willeke- 325passing yards 2TD 1int 29rushing yards 3TD

 Army came out swinging right away in this one. Jr QB Mikal Willeke was showing of his arm strength and accuracy all night finishing with 325yards 2TD and also added 3 rushing TDs. Willeke continues to show that he is one of the better quarterbacks in the CSFL. In the absence of star WR Donovan Mannion, Jr WR Cody Lominac stepped up big and had the biggest game of his career finishing with 8rec 99yards 2TD. Defensively Sr DB Sam Whipple locked down the STAC receivers all night. The star DB finished with 1tk 2int 1pbu. Upfront Sr DL Sebastian Russell led the way for Army with 6tk 1.5TFL 1.5sacks. Army heads back home next week for a matchup against Mansfield.

STAC didn’t have many bright spots in this one. Offensively the Spartans have been backed into a corner since the loss of breakout QB Ryan Kenny. In his absence Jr Jayden Bennermon has taken over. The converted WR continues to struggle as a QB only throwing for 49yards with 3int. The bulk of those yards went to Soph WR Hassan Blakney who finished with 5rec 31yards. Jr DB Kasey Sullivan led the Spartans on defense with 12tackles. The biggest spark of the night came from Fr CB Erick Campbell. The young DB took an interception 80yards to the house for the first points of the night for STAC and returned a blocked field goal for 2pts late in the game. STAC stays home again for a matchup against Caldwell. 

Penn v Cornell: Penn Win 17-0 

Player of the game: Sr QB Andrew Paolini- 210yards 1TD 1int 32rushing yards 1TD

Paolini continues to look strong despite the offensive line troubles plaguing Penn. The senior quarterback threw for 210yards 1TD 1int and added another score on the ground. Paolini has been the catalyst for a Penn team that has struggled offensively. His best two receivers continue to produce as well. Fr WR Brandon Graves had another impressive game finishing with 4rec 99yards and Soph Jake Wang followed up with 6rec 73yards 1TD. The two young receivers have shown they can be a dynamic dup for years to come. Defensively the Penn defensive line were once again the stars of the show. Sr DL Travis Legum was a force to be reckoned with finishing with 6tk 3.5TFL 3.5sacks. Legum continues to show he is one of the best interior defensive linemen in the league. Soph DL Cam Janock followed up with 6tk 0.5tfl 0.5sack 1int. Janock’s interception helped seal the game for Penn. Penn stays on the road for the second week in a row to visit Navy.

Cornell had some success offensively, but it didn’t translate into a win. Jr RB Ralph Fleuranvil had a game high 89rushing yards. That is the most any Cornell player has rushed for all season. Soph ATH Evan Nicholas showed his versatility by leading Cornell in tackles. He finished with 9tk 1int 2pbu. Nicholas was the main offensive threat for Cornell, now he looks to be one of their better defensive players. Cornell stays home for a matchup against Chestnut Hill next week. 

Caldwell v Chestnut Hill: Caldwell Win 28-6

Player of the game: Fr ATH Donovan Swasey -85rushing yards 2TD 2rec 33yards 1TD 

Caldwell proved to be too much in this matchup between cross state rivals. Sr QB Frank DeMaio continues to be the steady hand that the Caldwell offense needs. The Sr threw for 168yards 2TD 1int. Fr ATH Donovan Swasey showed his versatility and explosiveness finding the endzone 3 times on the afternoon. He finished with 84rushing yards 2TD 2rec 33yards 1TD. The Caldwell defense had multiple players make a difference in this one. Sr DL Ernesto Hernandez led the team in tackles with 7 and 0.5tfl. Jr DL Messiah Porter was a menace up front finishing with 4tk 3TFL 1sack. Soph DB Kyle Readus helped shutdown the CHC passing game. His 3pbu were crucial to stalling the CHC offense. He continues to show why he is one of the better corners in the league. Caldwell hits the road again next week to visit STAC.

Chestnut Hill is still looking for their first win of the season. The lone score of the day came when backup QB Cj Small came into the game and led the Griffins on a 15play drive that ended with a pass to Soph WR Xavier Hendricks for 5yrd receiving TD. The Chestnut Hill defensive front seven continues to impress despite the team struggles. Fr LB Lex Williams led the team with 10tk 1TFL. Fr DL Jonathan Havrilak had another strong showing adding 9tk 2TFL 1sack. Chestnut Hill hits the road next week to visit Cornell as both teams look for their first win of the season.

AB v Mansfield: Mansfield win 35-0

Player of the game:Soph QB Cahsid Raymond- 132passing yards 1TD 102rushing yards 2TD/Jr RB Terrance Quaker 134rushing yards 1TD 2rec 32yards

Mansfield took this one with a well rounded game on all sides.Soph QB Cahsid Raymond had another electrifying game throwing for 132yards 1TD and rushing for 102yards 2TD.Raymond had one of the most impressive runs of the year for his second rushing TD of the day. He continues to cement is status as one of the best players in the league. The other offensive star of the day was Sr RB Terrance Quaker who had a career high 134 rushing yards 1TD. On the defensive side of the ball the usual suspects for Mansfield dominated. Sr LB Matt Robert led the team in tackles with 7. Sr DL Chase Moser continues to have a dominant final season finishing this one with 6tk 4.5TFL 1sack. Fr DL Ian Mapp also had an impressive day adding 5tk 3TFL 2sacks. Mansfield hits the road to take on Army next week.

AB couldn’t get much going on offense in this one. Sr QB Tim Tillman went 9 of 24 for 71yards with no touchdowns. -8rushing yards as a team didn’t help the Battlers chances either. Soph WR Blake Baxter continues to be one of the lone bright spots for the AB offense. He finished with 4rec 45yards. On defense the front seven did what they could to slow down the Mansfield offense. Fr LB Dylan Knight led the team in tackles with 9 adding 1.5TFL. Soph DL Zachary Allison added 8tk 0.5TFL and Fr DL Kyonte Green added 6tk 3TFL. AB heads into the bye week before they welcome Navy to West Virginia.

MSFL 
CCSJ V Quincy: CCSJ Win 46-7

Player of the game: Fr LB Isaac Hegwood-18tk 1TFL 1pbu

CCSJ dominated on all fronts in this matchup. Fr QB Blaze Cano threw for 148yards and a career high 3TD. Fr RB Jonathon Flemings continues to be the team’s leading rusher adding 66yards in this game. Fr WR Lauren Ruth had the best game of his career finishing with a team high 74yards 2TD on 3 receptions. Defensively Fr LB Issac Hegwood dominated finishing with a game high 18tk 1TFL 1pbu. His 18 tackles are good for the 4th most in a game in sprint football history. Incredible night for the young freshman backer. Fr LB Trevor Busse also had a great day finishing with 10tk 3TFL 1int 3pbu. Fr DB Quindarius Davis and Fr LB Jaquan Bridges both had interceptions returned for touchdowns that helped further the CCSJ lead. CCSJ hits the road next week for a rematch against undefeated SMWC. 

Quincy struggled in this first ever matchup between these two teams. The Quincy quarterbacks couldn’t generate much offense. 5 interceptions between the two of them didn’t do much to help the Hawks cause. Sr WR Taylor Klusmeyer was the lone offense spark on the day leading the team with 4rec 36yards and adding 17rushing yards. Defensively the usual suspects for Quincy stepped up. Soph LB Ray Lingard had a game high 19tackles, which is also the 3rd most in a game in sprint football history. Fr DB Cordell Walker and LB Jaree Jones both did their part to try and stop the CCSJ offense. The pair combined for 25tk 5.5TFL 3sacks. Quincy hits the road next week to visit Fontbonne. 

SMWC V Bellarmine: SMWC win 33-10

Player of the game: Fr QB Brennon Landry-236yards 2TD 1int 25rushing yards.

SMWC continues their impressive inaugural season run. Fr QB Brennon Landry had another great game throwing for 236yards with 2TD. Landry has been the most impressive and consistent QB in the MSFL all season. Fr RB Patrick Perea has also been a force for the SMWC offense. The young ball carrier had 103rushing yards with 2TD.Fr WR Andrece Miller led the team in receiving yards and receptions finishing the day with 5 receptions for 86yards. On the defensive side of the ball Fr DL Trey Jackson led the way. The young defensive lineman led the team with 10tackles. Fr DB Xavian Grant disrupted the Quincy passing attack by snagging 2 interceptions in the game. SMWC heads back home for a rematch against CCSJ.

Bellarmine takes their first loss of the season. Fr QB Dylan Gough threw for 148yards 1TD 2int. The offensive catalyst for Bellarmine was once again Fr RB Brenden Reid. The star RB/DB had 97rushing yards 3rec 19yards 1TD on the day. Reid was also the leader on defense finishing with 9tk 1TFL 1pbu.Reid continues to prove that he is one of the best players in the MSFL. Fr DB Tavuis Francis followed up with 8tk 1int. Bellarmine looks to bounce back next week as they go visit Midway in Kentucky.

Midway v Fontbonne:Fontbonne Win 27-19

Player of the game: Fr ATH Chris Reckel – 352passing yards 2TD 1int 13rushing yards 2TD 

Fontbonne picked up their first win of the season and first win in program history. Fr ATH Chirs Reckel got the start at QB and did not disappoint. The young athlete threw for 352passing yards 2TD and added 2 rushing touchdowns. Reckel spent the better part of this season a receiver, but he should have locked in his spot at quarterback with this performance. Fr RB Darrion White led the team in rushing with 55yards. Fr WR Reshad Singleton had the best game of his career leading the team with 8rec 134yards 1TD. Right behind him the Fr receiver duo of Andre Webb and Jaylen Politte combined for 14rec 179yards 1TD. The Fontbonne defense continues to show how good they can be. The defensive line pair of Avion Bass and Isaiah Sanders combined for 26tackles 1TFL 1.5sacks 1int. 2 interceptions from Fr DB Xavier Reddock helped keep the Midway offense from getting in striking distance. Fontbonne hits the road for a rematch against Quincy. 

Midway fought back but couldn’t get their first win of the season. Fr QB DJ Palmer threw for 137yards 1TD and added 2 rushing touchdowns, but he did throw 4 interceptions. Fr WR Penther Alphonse had a team high 3receptions for 71yards. Alphonse has showed out each week despite the lack of team success. Fr LB Triston Berrios did what he could for the defense. He led the team with 8tk 1.5TFL 1ff 1fr. Fr LB Jonah Kile chipped in 5tk 1TFL 1sack. Midway hits the road next week for a rematch against Bellarmine.
