CSFL
Cornell v STAC: STAC win 28-0
Player of the game Jr RB Reno Molina- 102yards 2TD
STAC ends their season with a 2-game winning streak. Soph QB Ryan Kenny threw for 102yards with no touchdowns but with no interceptions Kenny played well enough to keep STAC in the lead. Kenny had an electrifying run in the 3rd quarter to keep the momentum with STAC. Jr RB Reno Molina had another great game following last week’s breakout performance vs CHC. The junior ran for 102yards 2TD. Sr Mahki Matthews closed out his career as a Spartan with 4rec 58yards. Matthews is without a doubt the best receiver in STAC history, it has been a pleasure to watch this young man play these last few years. Defensively the STAC secondary shut down the Cornell offense. Jr DB Shawn Benard led the way with 5tk 2int.Jr LB Chris Jones added 4tk 1tfl 1int to help secure the victory. STAC ends their season with a 3-4 record.
Cornell was held scoreless for the 4th time this season. Sr QB Xavier Martinez closed out his career with a disappointing performance. Martinez threw for 159yards but had 0 touchdowns with 3int. The bulk of those yards went to Sr WR Colton Kotecki who finished with 6rec 102yards. Kotecki ended the year with 3 straight 100+ yard games and was undoubtedly Cornell’s only relevant offensive threat. On defense Cornell did not offer much resistance. As a team Cornell only had 1 sack and 4TFL. Cornell ends their season with a 1-6 record.
Caldwell v Army: Army win 24-13
Player of the game: Jr QB Mikal Willeke- 203yards 2TD 2int
With this win Army secures their spot in the CSFL title game. Jr QB Mikal Willeke continues to have a stellar season. He threw for 203yards 2TD 2int in this one. Jr RB Ryan Connors ran for a career high 114yards with 1TD. Jr WR Traye Carson led the way on the outside with 7rec 87yards 1TD. The Army defense was led by linebackers Luke Gigliotti and Michael Sullivan. Gigliotti led the team with 10tk, and Sullivan had 8tk 3.5tfl 1.5sacks. Sr DB Sam Whipple held it down on the outside with 4pbu. Army will hit the road next week to play Navy for the CSFL championship.
Caldwell fought hard in this one but came up short at the end. Sr QB Frank DeMaio struggled in his final game but did use his legs to extend plays to make something happen. DeMaio finished with 92 yards 1TD 1int. DeMaio will go down as the best QB to play for Caldwell and has been a leader on their 2 winningest teams in program history. Fr RB Devon Turner ended his great first season with a 60yard game. Soph DB Amajuwan Murray led the way for Caldwell with 12tk 2tfl 1int. Caldwell ends their season with a 5-2 record.
Chestnut Hill v Alderson Broaddus: AB win 40-31
Player of the game- Soph WR Blake Baxter- 10rec 262yards 2TD.
AB ends their season with a big win over CHC. Sr QB Tim Tillman finished his career with a program record 363yards 4TD. Tillman finishes his career as AB all-time leader in passing yards and TD. His main target Blake Baxter also had a record-breaking day. Baxter finished with 10rec 262yards 2TD. His 10rec and 262yards are both career highs and program records. His 262yards are also the 3rd most yards in a game in sprint football history. Defensively Jr DB Ethan Codeluppi led the way with 10tk 1tfl. Soph LB Dalton Dunkle was a menace in the secondary finishing with 8tk 1int 4pbu. Fr DL Kyonte Green had the best game of his career finishing with 7k 4tfl 1sack. AB ends their season with a 2-5record
CHC stayed in striking distance the entire game but couldn’t stop the AB offense on their historic day. The combination of Soph CJ Small and Fr Anthony Cancellera threw for 227yards 2TD 2int. Fr RB Zyier Pannell led the Griffins on the ground with 66yards 2TD. The freshman also had 1 receiving touchdown as well.This was the best game of Pannell’s young career. Fr LB Lex Williams led the team with 12tk 1.5tfl. Williams finishes the season as the team leader in tackles. CHC ends the year with a 0-7 record.
Navy v Mansfield: Navy win 43-14
Player of the game: Sr RB Alex Totta- 160yards 2TD
Navy ends their regular season undefeated with this win over Mansfield. Jr QB Brandon Atwood had another solid game throwing for 146yards 2TD and adding 12rushing yards 2TD. The catalyst of the offense was once again Alex Totta. The senior ran for 160yards 2TD, that is his 5th 100+rushing game and 6th 2+TD game of the season. Expect Totta to get a large workload next week in the title game as he closes out a legendary career. Jr WR Andrew Margiotta had a great day finishing with 5rec 105yards 1TD. Defensively Sr LB Paul Kuehler led the team in tackles with 6. Navy heads home to host Army in the title game next week.
Mansfield stayed in the game early but had no answers for Navy as the game went on. Soph QB Cahsid Raymond was spectacular once again. The star QB had 193yards 1TD 1int 77rushing yards 1TD. A series of spectacular runs kept Mansifeld in the game early and gave the Mansfield offense some life. Sr WR Eugene Haynes led the team with 8rec 74yards. On the defensive side of the ball Sr LB Matt Robert closed out his career with 15tk 1tfl. Robert finishes his career as Mansfield’s all time leader in tackles. Robert has had an incredible career, he has been one of the best mike backers since he came into the league. Mansfield ends their season with a 5-3 record.
MSFL
Fontbonne v Midway: Fontbonne win 6-0
Player of the game: Fr DL Isaiah Sanders- 6tk 4tfl 2sacks
Fontbonne won this tightly contested game to close out their season as the 5th place team in the MSFL. Offensively, Ath Chris Reckel struggled at QB only throwing for 86yards with 1int. Fr RB Darrion White, who has been one of the few bright spots offensively for the Griffins all year, ran for 45yards and the lone touchdown of the day. The Fontbonne defense has been the saving grace for this team all year and they did not disappoint in this one. Fr DL Isaiah Sanders finished the game with 6tk 4tfl 2sacks. He has been one of the best defensive linemen in all of sprint football this season. He is a must watch whenever you turn on a Fontbonne game. Fr DB Xavier Reddock helped secure the shutout with 1tk 2int. Fontbonne finishes their season with a 2-5 record.
Midway fought hard but couldn’t overcome the Fontbonne defense. Fr QB DJ Palmer did not have a good day; he only threw for 31 yards with 3int. Fr RB Kaden Parraz led the team in rushing with 49yards. Fr DB Tarice Mckinney led the Midway defense with 8tk 2tfl. Fr DL Gavin Lay added 6tk 1tfl 1sack. Midway finishes their season with a 0-7 record.
Quincy v Bellarmine: Quincy win 24-14
Player of the Game: Soph LB Ray Lingard-9tk 2tfl 1int
Quincy fought back from a halftime deficit to score 24 straight points to close out their season with a win. Sr ATH Taylor Klusmeyer was the steady hand the Quincy offense needed in this one. The senior threw for 90yards 2TD 1int and ran for 81yards. Klusmeyer will leave a lasting legacy as a Hawk and will forever be remembered for what he did for this team in his only year as a player. Fr RB Hector Ramirez had the best game of his career rushing for 95yards 1TD. Fr ATH Exavior Hinton and Fr WR Elijah Leasman combined for 7rec 85yards 1TD. Defensively Quincy showed out holding Bellarmine scoreless in the second half. Soph LB Ray Lingard stood out with 9tk 2tfl 1int. Lingard finishes this season as one of the best linebackers in the MSFL and one of the best defensive players in all of sprint football. Quincy ends their season with a 4-3 record.
Bellarmine had a hot start early but couldn’t keep things going as the game went on. Fr QB Dylan Gough struggled in his final outing throwing for 75yards 1int. Fr RB Brenden Reid led the way for Bellarmine just as he has all season. Reid finished with 69rushing yards 2TD. Reid has been one of the best offensive players in all of sprint football. Reid has what it takes to be a future MVP of the league if he continues to improve. Defensively Sr Devan Hendricks led the way with 12tk. Hendricks has left a lasting impact on the Bellarmine program in his lone season. He was an impact player on both sides of the ball and is one of the better 2 sport athletes in the MSFL. He will be missed as Bellarmine looks to replace his production next year. Bellarmine finishes their season with a 4-3 record.
SMWC v CCSJ: SMWC win 23-7
Player of the game: Fr RB Patrick Perea- 116yards 1rec 29yards
SMWC won this thrilling game and are the inaugural MSFL champions. This was the third matchup between these two teams and as expected it was a dog fight all the way through. Fr Kyle Vernelson got the start at QB and did not disappoint. The freshman threw for 170yards 1TD. The catalyst for the offense was Fr RB Patrick Perea who ran for 116yards. Perea is one of the best running backs in sprint football and he proved that in this game. Defensively Fr DL/LB Hunter Cardwell led the way for SMWC finishing with 11tk 2tfl 1sack 1int. SMWC finishes their season with a 6-1 record and are your first ever MSFL Champions.
CCSJ had chances but ultimately couldn’t get it done in this one. The CCSJ passing attack struggled all night. Freshmen Blaze Cano and Carson Crowe combined for 106yards 3int. The CCSJ running game couldn’t get going either. The dynamic pair of Jonathan Flemings and Elijah Antis combined for 60 total yards 1TD. Defensively Fr LB Trevor Busse held it down finishing with a game high 19tk and 3tfl 1sack. Fr DB Josh Tejeda chipped in 7tk 3.5tfl 1sack 1ff. CCSJ ends their season with a 5-2 record.
