Names to know: RB

CCSJ Soph Jonathan Flemings- 2022 709rushing yards 7TD 9rec 73yards

Flemings is one of the bright stars in the MSFL and one of the best backs in sprint football. The tough runner led CCSJ to the MSFL championship in their inaugural season. The explosiveness that Flemings hits the hole with makes him a threat to take to the house as on any given play. Although not much of a receiving threat just yet Flemings is dangerous enough as a tailback that the Crimson Wave offense can rely on other weapons in the passing game. Flemings is one of the best young running backs in sprint football and will be a focal point of the CCSJ offense for years to come.

SMWC Soph Patrick Perea- 2022 581 rushing yards 4TD 16rec 286yards 2TD

Perea was a catalyst for the SMWC offense as they finished the season as the first ever MSFL champs. The young running back proved he is one of the most dynamic players in all of sprint football. Despite some changes around him Perea will surely be a main focal point for the Pomeroys offense heading into this season. Top tier burst paired with great vision and size make him difficult to tackle in the box or the open field. Perea could see even more touches heading into his second season. It’ll be exciting to see what type of production he brings this year.

Bellarmine Soph Brenden Reid- 2022 772rushing yards 6TD 15rec 181yards 2TD

Reid rocked the MSFL last year finishing the season as the league’s leading rusher and being named MVP of the MSFL. It didn’t take long for Reid to establish himself as one of the premier players in sprint football. Great size with a relentless running style make Reid a sight to see once he hits the hole. Some of the most electrifying runs of last season were Reid leading the charge for the Bellarmine offense making things happen. He was no slouch on defense either finishing 2nd on the team in tackles. We’ll see if he continues to lend his talent to the defense but rest assured Reid will be the engine that drives the Bellarmine offense.

Caldwell Soph Devon Turner-2022 573rushing yards 4TD 3rec 19yards

Turner was the engine for a Caldwell running game that led them to a 5-2 season. His performance was impressive enough to earn him Rookie of the year in the CSFL. Even though it will only be his second season he is already one of the top backs in the CSFL. With the offensive line losing some experienced starters Turner may be called on to do even more but he certainly has the talent to do so. Good speed and a strong frame allow him to be an effective runner no matter the play call or formation. Turner is one of the must watch players heading into this season in the CSFL

Mansfield Sr Terrance Quaker-2022 290rushing yards 2TD 15rec 265receiving yards 3TD

If there was a Comeback Player of the Year it certainly would be Terrance Quaker. A injury cut his 2021 season short but the multi purpose back has bounced back in a big way. Quaker is the Mountaineers most dangerous runner and pass catcher and quickly became star QB Cahsid Raymond’s favorite target. He hasn’t lost a step despite the injury and that speed is the very thing that makes him so dangerous. Quaker also lends that speed to the track & field team at Mansfield. Last season Quaker was one leg of the fastest 4×400 in Mansfield history. Quaker ran a career best 48.84. Expect Mansfield to use Quaker in a lot of creative ways on offense this season.
