Names to know: WR/TE

Navy Sr Andrew Margiotta-2022 33rec 594yards 5TD

With another strong season Margiotta will go down as the best receiver to ever play for the Mids. He is already has the all time record for career receptions and receiving yards at Navy (57rec & 1090receiving yards) and his 10TD is only 6 behind all time great Mathew Hite. In fact Magiotta broke Hite’s record for most receiving yards in a game last year with his 250 yard game. Margiotta is a wide receiver talent rarely seen at at Navy. He and his teammate QB Brandon Atwood should be in for huge senior seasons as Navy looks to secure another CSFL Championship.

Penn Soph Brandon Graves-2022 26rec 506yards 4TD

Graves would have been a solid pick Rookie of the Year last year. The big receiver is the most dynamic playmaker the Quakers have and should be even better in that role this season. His long frame and jumping ability make him a nightmare to cover for most DBs. Although the QB situation is a mystery with the departure of Andrew Paolini whoever wins the job will have the tallest receiver in sprint football at their disposal.

Quincy Soph Exavior Hinton-2022 21rec 314yards 4TD 82rushing yards

Hinton showed how versatile of a player he can be for the Quincy offense. Hinton stared the season as one of the primary running backs but transitioned to receiver as the year went on. You can see his background as a running back whenever he catches the ball. Arm tackles often aren’t enough to bring him down and he has a distinct running style often seen in running backs. Hinton should be one of the top targets for whoever wins the quarterback job at Quincy.

Penn Jr Jake Wang- 2022 39rec 481yards 2TD

Despite the struggles as a team Wang and his teammate Brandon Graves made for the best wide receiver duo in the CSFL. Wang and Graves couldn’t be more different. Wang does the majority of his work in the slot and the bulk of his routes are in that short to intermediate range. Sure hands and suddenness while running routes made him a favorite target of Andrew Paolini. Whoever wins the quarterback job at Penn will have two of the best receivers in the CSFL to throw to.

Midway Soph Penther Alphonse- 2022 18rec 310yards 3TD

Even though Midway didn’t manage to get a win last year they still managed to show the league that they have some star players. One of those being Soph Penther Alphonse. The young receiver quickly became one of the main catalyst for the offense and was responsible for a ton of positive yardage in the passing game and as a returner ( 225 KR 134 PR). Alphonse is the type of receiver who can take the top off a defense or take a short reception all the way to the house. With the offense looking better as a whole and his continued development Alphonse could turn into one of the premier players in all of sprint football.

Chestnut Hill Jr Nick Ocampo-2022 19rec 194yards 1TD

Despite struggling last season the Griffins have a few reasons to be excited heading into the 2022 season. One of the reasons is the play and development of tight end Nick Ocampo. A consistent target throughout the season Ocampo is one of the only guys who truly offers his team the versatility that a good tight end can give you. Not just a blocker not just a receiver but a blended combination of the two. That’s what a tight end truly is and that is the value Ocampo brings for the Griffins.

SMWC Soph Carlos Munoz Jr-2022 17rec 220yards 2TD

Munoz is another example of what a tight end is supposed to be in a offense. Contributing to the run game as a blocker while being a legitimate threat as a receiver. Munoz does this at a high level for the Pomeroy’s. His presence on the line and as a pass catcher made a major impact for SMWC as they finished the season as MSFL champs. I think Munoz has a chance to be an all time great at the position. In the CSFL there are only a handful of names who deserved to be remembered and celebrated as elite tight ends. If Munoz stays on this trajectory he will find himself amongst the greats at that position.
