Names to know: LB
Quincy Jr Ray Lingard-2022 72tk 16tfl 6.5sacks 2ff 1int
Lingard dominated in his first season for the Hawks. The outside linebacker made an immediate impact and finished the season leading his team in tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks. Lingard’s level of play helped the Hawks build momentum and finish the season on a 3 game winning streak. A legit run stopper paired with a top tier motor and pass rush moves make Lingard a nightmare coming off the edge. Lingard should improve on his historic first season and reach even higher heights this season.
Army Sr Luke Gigliotti-2022 59tk 3.5tfl 3ff 1pbu
Gigliotti captains the middle of a strong Army defense heading into this season. He has been a main stay in the middle since his first year with the team. Gigliotti is a great example of what a mike backer is suppose to be. Physical, smart, and quick he has all the tools necessary to give opposing offenses fits. Gigliotti is one of the best line backers is all of sprint football and should have a great senior year to finish out a tremendous career.

Mansfield Sr Matt Robert-2022 77tk 9.5tfl 4sacks
Robert has been one of if not the best mike backer in sprint football the last few seasons. In 3 seasons he has 207 tackles which ties him for the most in sprint football history. He is going to shatter the all time record in sprint history and Mansfield history. He is one of only 3 players in league history to have 200+ tackles. Robert has been an absolute blast to watch every year. He plays sideline to sideline and has no problem playing downhill meeting ball carriers in the hole and at the line of scrimmage. Robert is a guy to watch for our CSFL HUB DON AWARD which is given to the best defensive player in sprint football. There is a strong chance he could have a 80 tackle season as well which is ridiculous. Robert will be a leader for the Mansfield defense and will go down as one of the best defensive players in sprint football history.

CCSJ Soph Trevor Busse-2022 65tk 9tfl 2sacks 1int
Busse had a great first season for the Crimson Wave. He really impresses me as a outside linebacker. Busse is relentless in his pursuit of the ball and its evident every time you turn on the tape. He led CCSJ in tackles and was second in tackles for loss. Busse should continue to improves as he grows into his body and develops better understanding of the offense he will see in the MSFL. Busse is a staple of the Crimson Wave defense and should have even more of an impact heading into his second season.

Fontbonne Soph Avion Bass- 74tk 8tfl 2.5sacks 1int
Bass was one of the shinning stars for a Fontbonne team that struggled in their first season. Despite the slow start Bass showed that he is one of the best linebackers in the MSFL. I can say without a doubt Bass is one of the most athletic linebackers I have ever seen play sprint football. His long fame and speed make him the ideal outside linebacker. Bass led the Griffins in tackles and was top five in total tackles between the CSFL & MSFL. Bass is one of my favorite players to watch in the MSFL and will be a key player for the Griffins heading into year 2.
Navy Sr Jack Costigan-2022 55tk 4.5tfl .5sack
Costigan is one of the best players on a Navy team that won the CSFL championship last season. His impact is seen when you turn on the tape but you can also see it in the box score. He is the only starting linebacker on the Navy defense that had more solo tackles than assisted tackles. He sets the table for others on his team not the other way around. If Costigan can have a great senior season then he can cement his legacy as one of the best linebackers to play for the Midshipmen.
