Names to know:WR

(MSFL) SMWC Jr Devron Johnson – 2023 36rec 645yards 4TD

SMWC had the most explosive offense in sprint football last season. One of the major weapons for the potent Pomeroy’s offense is Jr receiver Devron Johnson. The rising junior has a great mixture of size and speed coupled with great hands and ball skills. He routinely makes tough catches over defenders that are in good position. You will also see Johnson running by guys to track down the deep ball. Johnson was the most prolific receiver in sprint football last season. He ended the year leading the MSFL and CSFL in receptions and receiving yards. Heading into year 3 Johnson has the chance to be even better this season. With a gun slinger like Jeremiah Tosky as throwing him the ball Johnson could continue to cement his name in the record books as one of the best receivers of this era in sprint football.

(CSFL) STAC Soph Nyir Jones – 2023 28rec 417yards 4TD

Last season STAC was fortunate enough to have Jones burst on to the scene as a freshman. Jones ended the year as the team leader in receptions and receiving yards and was top three in sprint football in both categories. The biggest things that Jones brings to the Spartans offense is his elite deep threat ability and his sure hands. Throughout the year Jones made spectacular toe tap catches as he contorted his body along the sideline. Despite being in a senior heavy receiver room last year Jones often found himself being the number 1 option for star QB Ryan Kenney. The Spartans will have an uphill climb after graduating so many seniors but with Jones as a threat on the outside the STAC passing game should be in good shape.

(CSFL) CHC Jr Kyree Griffin – 2023 26rec 366yards 3TD

CHC is lucky enough to have one of the fastest receivers in sprint on their team. Rising junior Kyree Griffin brings a lot of juice to the game for the Griffins. While he is not the tallest receiver Griffin still makes tough catches in traffic to move the chains for CHC. He uses his quickness to shake defenders so he gain extra yardage when working short and intermediate routes. The best part of his game to watch is when he gets the opportunity to push vertical and put pressure on secondaries down the field. Griffin is one of the best deep treats in the game right now and will certainly be a focal point in the Griffins passing attack.

(MSFL) Walsh Soph Keion Hawkins-Simms – 2023 18rec 277yards 5TD

There were plenty of ups and downs during Walsh’s inaugural season. One of the bright spots for the Cavalier’s was Keion Hawkins-Simms. The young receiver used his speed and quickness to take routine catches and turn them into big gains. He also found himself getting behind defenses with his explosiveness. One of the big concerns with a young team is quarterback play. How Walsh looks at that position may have an impact of Hawkins-Simms numbers. But regardless who gets the job and how well they play the Cavalier’s offense will be in a good place with Keion Hawkins-Simms on their side.

(CSFL) MU Sr Latrenton Randle – 2023 20rec 356yards 2TD

Mansfield has had a dynamic offense the last few years. In large part to the talent they have had in the backfield with QB Cahsid Raymond and RB Terrance Quaker. On the outside the most efficient receiver Mansfield has had over these years has been Sr Latrenton Randle. The rising senior has been a consistent presence in the Mansfield receiving core. Randle uses his quickness to create space on his routes and his sure hands make him a favorite target for Raymond. If Randle can have a great senior year he could finish out as one of the best receivers in Mansfield history while also being a major reason for Mansfield having a successful season.
