Names to know:LB
(MSFL) CCSJ Jr Trevor Busse 2023-66tk 13tfl 2.5sacks 4ff 2fr 1int
CCSJ has had one of the best defenses in the MSFL over the last two seasons. The Wave have a pair of elite linebackers that set the tone for the defense in the box which resulted in a MSFL championship last season. One half of their linebacker duo is Trevor Busse. The star LB proved last year that he is one of the best backers in sprint football. Busse gives you everything that you would want from your outside backer. He is a missile when blitzing off the edge, stout in the run game as an edge setter, and a great pass coverage linebacker. There isn’t a weak point in Busse’s game, he’s as good as it gets. As CCSJ gears up for their title defense Busse will be a major factor for the Wave defense.
(CSFL) CHC Jr Lex Williams 2023-54tk 5.5tfl 1.5sacks
The Griffins return one of the leading tacklers in sprint football in Jr Lex Williams. He finished tied with Jr DL Jonathan Havrilak for 1st on the team in tackles and was tied for the 6th most tackles in sprint football. The third year linebacker plays with a high motor that always puts him around the ball. He isn’t the biggest linebacker in the league but he still finds ways to make plays around the line of scrimmage. Williams should be near the top of the tackle leaderboard once again this season. With another 50+ tackle season Williams will be moving up the all time tackles list a CHC and in sprint football history.
(MSFL) Bellarmine Jr Caleb Murray 2023-57tk 11.5tfl 2.5sacks 4ff 3fr 1int
The Knights offense usually takes up most of the attention whenever you are talking about Bellarmine. However their defense does have some top position players. One of those players is Jr Caleb Murray. The Jr linebacker does his best work manning the middle for the Knights defense. When he can get going downhill Murray is very effective at getting stops at or behind the line of scrimmage. He can sometimes struggle with moving laterally chasing faster players but with a year under his belt and a summer to work on his body Murray should be the best he’s ever been going into this season.

(MSFL) CCSJ Jr Alexander Dellaechaie 2023-44tk 15tfl 4sacks 2ff
The other half of the dangerous CCSJ linebacker duo is Jr Alexander Dellaechaie. The third year backer is a presence in the middle for the Crimson Wave defense. Dellaechaie is a physical tackler that doesn’t shy away from sticking his face in the fire when the moment of truth arises. When he gets going downhill Dellaechaie is a nightmare for opposing offenses. One reason Dellaechaie is so affective in the box and around the ball is he does a great job of using his hands to shed blocks. Every coach wants a linebacker that eats with his hands and makes plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. Dellaechaie and Busse are one of the best linebacker tandems I have ever seen. Expect this duo to do major damage this season.
(MSFL) SMWC Soph Joshua Wence 2023-47tk 7tfl 2int
SMWC has a great group returning for their third season as a program. One guy who should have a big impact is rising sophomore Joshua Wence. The young backer led the Pomeroys in tackles last season as a freshman which is no small feat. The Linebacker position was very heavy last season in both leagues so Wence was just shy of making our all conference teams. With guys on teams across both leagues moving on and with another year under his belt Wence should be one of the top backers in sprint football this season. Expect big things from this second year backer.
