CSFL

Army v Caldwell-Army win 56-12

Player of the game: Soph RB Arthur Lavalais 166yards 2TD

Army turned a two score lead into a big win in the second half. Soph QB Kyle West continues to play well finishing this game with 243yards 2TD 1int 1 rushing TD. The Army ground game was led by Soph RB Arthur Lavalais who ran for 166yards 2TD. When Lavalais is rolling like this paired with a strong passing game it’s hard to beat the Black Knights. Sr WR Ben Deloit led the team with 10rec 116yards 1TD. Deloit has been a consistent threat this year for Army. The sure handed receiver has turned into West’s most reliable target. On defense Jr LB Zion Sims ended the game with 9tk 0.5tfl 2ff 1fr 1pbu and Sr DL George White added 9tk 3tfl 3sacks. Army stays home again to welcome Mansfield.

Caldwell had some big offensive plays to get on the board but they couldn’t match Army’s offensive output. Fr QB Josh Smith had a big day for the Cougars. Smith threw for 135yards 1int and ran for 144yards 1TD. Smith’s big day on the ground was highlighted by a huge 75-yard run on a 4th & 1. Smith has been a dynamic play maker for the Cougars at QB. They will need him to continue to make plays heading down the stretch. Jr WR Ajurn Petgrave led the team with 3rec 54yards. On defense Sr DB Amajuwan Murray had a career high 17tk 1tfl 1pbu. Caldwell heads home to take on Penn next week.

CHC v Mansfield-CHC win 42-35

Player of the game: Soph RB Lawrence Howard 166yards 2TD

The Griffins used a strong 2nd quarter to outscore a dangerous Mansfield team. Jr QB Anthony Cancellare had a very efficient afternoon. Cancellare went 11 for 12 with 168yards 3TD. Not to be outdone Soph RB Lawrence Howard played big for CHC. The young RB had a game high 166yard 2TD. Howard is on pace to break the Griffin’s single season rushing record which is held by 2016 graduate Sef Penson(427). Jr WR Kyree Griffin led the team with 6rec 85yards. Jr Miles Coats was on the receiving end of 2 Cancellare TD passes. The Griffins offense played an extremely clean game not allowing a single TFL, sack, or fumble. Defensively Jr DB Justin Oppong led the team with 10tk 1tfl. CHC heads home next week to play STAC.

Mansfield has shown that they can be explosive no matter who they play. However, they haven’t done quite enough to get more wins this season. Sr ATH Cahsid Raymond led the team through the air with 187yards 1TD. He also added 25yards on the ground with 2 scores. The star athlete is the driving force for Mansfield even when he doesn’t have huge yardage totals. Fr QB Marcus Quaker also got on the board with 84 passing yards 1TD 30 rushing yards 1TD. Sr WR Marcus Melle led the team with 3rec 109yards 1TD. On defense Fr LB Brady Deneen led the team with 9tk. Mansfield hits the road next week to visit Army.

Penn v Molloy-Penn win 49-0

Player of the game: Sr RB Tom Rebstock 122yards 4TD.

Penn used a dominant ground game and suffocating defense to overwhelm Molloy. Fr QB Mike Malone was not called to do much in this game. The first-year signal caller threw for 88yards 1TD. The part of the offense the really popped was the rushing attack. Sr RB Tom Rebstock had the best game of his career leading the team with 122yards 4TD. His backfield mate Soph JT Goodman added 106yards 1TD. On defense Sr DL Cam Janock led the team with 9tk 1.5tfl 0.5sack. Sr LB Jake Inserra followed right behind witk 7tk 2tfl 1sack. Penn hits the road next week to play Caldwell.

Molloy has yet to find a good rhythm this year. The first-year team continues to go through the struggles you would expect from a team in their inaugural season. The Lions were only able to gain 7yards of positive offense. With no momentum built during the game the pressure was all on the Lion’s defense. Fr LB Marquis Dixon led the team with 12tk 0.5tfl. Molloy has their work cut out for them as they head into their final three games of the season. The Lions head home to welcome Navy.

Cornell v STAC-Cornell win 24-23

Player of the game: Sr ATH Evan Nicholas 120passing yards 1TD 2int 77rushing yards 2TD

Cornell managed to take advantage of turnovers while their best players made plays to get this comeback win. Sr ATH Evan Nicholas continues to be the most important piece of the Cornell team. Nicholas started the day at QB and threw for 120yards 1TD 2in. He also ran for 77yards 2TD. Nicholas has proven to be one of the most versatile weapons in all of sprint football. If Cornell wants to have a chance to finish the year with a winning record then Nicholas will need to keep producing performances like this. Sr WR Colin Boyle led the receiving core with 5rec 81yards 1TD. Defensively Jr LB Michael Moiser led the team with 9tk1tfl. Jr DB Ian Applegate added 4tk 2int 1pbu. Cornell gets their bye before they hit the road to visit Army.

STAC looked good going into the 2nd half, but the Spartans failed to make enough plays to hold out for the win. Sr QB Ryan Kenny threw for 282yards 3TD 3int. Kenny’s ability to make plays has been one of the only constants for this Spartans team. Sr WR Jayden Bennermon led the team with 8rec 115yards 2TD. Bennermon has been Kennys favorite target this season. The big receiver continues to state his case for being one of the best receivers in sprint football. On defense Jr DB Ethan Hence led the team with 10tk 2tfl 1pbu. STAC will need to be at their best if they want to end the season on a high note. The Spartans get ready to take on CHC in Philly next week.

MSFL

SMWC v Walsh- SMWC win 48-16

Player of the game: Jr QB Jeremiah Tosky 386yards 3TD

SMWC keeps on rolling on both sides of the ball. The Pomoeroy’s offense has been dominant all season with Tosky at the helm. Tosky threw for 386yards 3TD. The Pomeroy’s ground game was spearheaded by Soph Derron Hazzard and Fr Xander Hunt. The pair combined for 129yards 4TD. Fr WR Marques Reese led the team with 5rec 115yards 1TD. Right behind him was Jr Corbyn Cleveland who added 4rec 108yards 1TD. Defensively Sr DB Christian Woodard and Soph LB Justin Wiggins combined for 10tk 1tfl. SMWC gears up for an epic match up against CCSJ next week.

Walsh had an impressive day throwing to ball, but it did not do enough to keep them in this game. Fr QB Zach Bowman threw for 235yards 2TD. Bowman also led the team with 52 rushing yards. Bowman has shown flashes of potential all season. When Bowman has performances like this the Cavilers are in a good position to compete in games. Sr TE Jacob Cruz-Perez had a season high 9rec 116yards 1TD. On defense Fr DB Rodney Hayes led the team with 7tk. Walsh hits the road next week to take on Midway.

CCSJ v Midway-CCSJ win 50-7

Player of the game: Jr QB Nino Barbosa 115yards 1TD 2int 85yards 2TD

CCSJ used their tough defense and ground game to dominate in this wire-to-wire win. Jr QB Nino Barbosa threw for 115yards 1TD 2int. He also led the team with 85 rushing yards 2TD. Barbosa always makes plays when the Crimson Wave need it most. The game breaking QB has been on a roll dating back to his performances from last season. Soph RB Jamall Warnell added 29yards 3TD. Defensively Jr LB Alexander Dellaechaie led the Wave with 7tk 4tfl. His performance was just one part of a blanketing effort the saw the CCSJ defense finish with 13tfl and 4sacks. CCSJ heads into a match up of undefeated titans as CCSJ hits the road to visit SMWC.

Midway has shown that they have the ability to compete with some of the MSFL ‘s best. However, this game got out of hand before the Eagles could do much of anything. Fr QBs Christian Carter and Tanner Clark combined for 76yards 1TD 1int. The Midway running game which had been strong lately was held to 10 total yards. On defense there was a four way tie with Trenton Leach, Luke Guerrero, Peyton Braizer, Jamarion Taylor each having 4tackles 1tfl. Jr Keegan Hill had 2tk 2int 1pbu. Midway heads home next week to welcome Walsh.

Quincy v Oakland City-Quincy win 42-14

Player of the game: Sr RB CJ Jackson 66yards 1TD 4rec 42yards 70yard punt return TD

Quincy ends their regular season with a convincing win over a young Oaks team. Jr Nick Manzo made his return to QB and played well. Manzo led the team with 196yards 1TD 1int. Soph Deuce Allaway chipped in 80yards 1TD 1int. Sr RB CJ Jackson led the team in rushing with 66yards 1TD and he added 4rec for 42yards. Jackson also took a punt return 70yards to the house. Jackson’s 178 all-purpose yard night helped the Hawks take a commanding lead over the Oaks. Jr WR Camden Pye led the team with 5rec 77yards. On defense Jr DL Noah Getz led the team with 8tk 0.5tfl. Quincy ends their regular season with a 2-4 record. With Midway owning the tie break the Hawks season is likely finished.

Oakland City did not have many answers for the more experienced Quincy team. Soph QB Darrius Pope and Fr QB Anias Mitchell combined for 100yards 1TD 2int 1rushing TD. The Oaks were able to rush for 106yards as a team with Fr Tanner Gilbert leading the charge with 44 yards. What promise the Oaks have shown on offense throughout the year was nowhere to be found in this game. On defense Soph LB Kanye Johnson led the team with 12tk 1tfl. Oakland City finds themselves in a must win situation next week vs Bellarmine if they want to keep their post season hopes alive.
