The Shape of Sprint:WR

Balanced Route Runner

These receivers are known for the ability to consistently execute routes with speed, precision, and timing, creating separation from defenders to make themselves a viable target for their quarterbacks. They are masters at using subtle footwork, hand fighting, and positioning to put defenders at the disadvantage. They can use their physical tools to seal the deal and put the ball in the endzone but even when they are doing that they use their skill to set themselves up first. These are some of the most complete receivers sprint football has ever seen.

(CSFL) Army 16-19 WR Tom Williamson 96rec 1399yards 20TD

Williamson is one of the most well rounded receivers I have ever seen play the game. He had checks next to everything you would want in a number 1 guy. The Army great put in work every possible way. He consistently found spaces in zone, won his one-on-one matchup, took short receptions to the house, made tough catches, and took the top off of defenses. You could dial up anything with Williamson in your offense. The all time great is complete and balanced wide out.

(CSFL) Penn 09-12 WR Whit Shaw 140rec 2245yards 27TD

Shaw left the game as the most decorated receiver to ever play sprint football. Shaw had a masterful blend of of precision, endurance, and explosive acceleration. These attributes allowed Shaw to dominate his competition. While he did play right before the technologic boom and consistent game recording what film there is shows how much of a problem he was for the entire league. Without a doubt Shaw still remains one of the titans of the position.

(CSFL) Mansfield 13-16 WR Kurt Logan 100rec 1178yards 10TD

Logan is at the pinnacle of wide receivers to ever play for Mansfield. The former Mountaineer was a highly productive and consistently reliable receiver known for his strong hands, excellent route running, and ability to make big plays. While Logan wasn’t the fastest receiver to ever play the game that did not stop him from becoming one of the best receivers in his era. His crisp routes, particularly in the intermediate and short game, allowed him to consistently get open and make plays. Logans was also no stranger to going up and making a play on a 50/50 ball. This balanced skills set made Logan a lot to deal with.
