Corners

(MSFL) CCSJ Sr Quindarius Davis 2024 stats: 26tk 2tfl 1int 6pbu

In just three seasons Davis has cemented himself as one of the top corners to ever play sprint football. His career numbers and resume vs some of the MSFL’s best prove that he is one of the best to ever do it. Davis is without a doubt one of the most physical corners I have seen in sprint football. He brings the boom every time its time to tackle ball carriers. What has really made him a hall of fame level corner is his ability to cover. He has no problem suffocating receivers at the line of scrimmage or playing off with disciplined eyes and quick reactions. With a season left Davis will only further his already great legacy and finish what has been a all time great career.

(MSFL) Bellarmine Sr Lance Weiter 2024 stats: 30tk 1tfl 4int 9pbu

Weiter has been one of Bellarmine’s best defense players over the last few seasons. The Knights have one of the most proven and experienced corners in sprint football. Weiter is at his best when playing from depth which allows him to uses his eyes and read his keys. He is always around the ball when other teams decide to throw. Weiter has consistently been one of sprint football’s interception leaders over the course of his career. Teams have to think twice when trying to take shots deep with how often Weiter comes down with the ball. Weiter will go down as the best corner to play for Bellarmine at this point in their programs history.

(MSFL) CCSJ Sr Daymon Johnson 2024 stats: 27tk 4tfl 3int 4pbu

Johnson is the other half of what is the best cornerback duo in sprint football. Johnson is lighting quick. He stops on a dime which allows him to stay in good position when covering receivers. That same quickness also makes it hard for blockers to get their hands on him. Johnson is also as fast as they come. In the few times he does get beat he has the recovery speed to get back in position to make a play on the ball. These skills also allow him to cover guys in the slot when he is asked which not every corner can do. Johnson may have been over shadowed earlier in his career but now he is one of the best corners in sprint football. Expect Johnson to have a great senior season.

(CSFL) Penn Jr Josh Johnson 2024 stats: 23tk 1tfl 3int 9pbu

Johnson has been a breath of fresh air for Penn’s defense the last two seasons. The Quakers aren’t known for historically having good corners on the outside of their defense. Johnson is one of the few guys they have had that breaks this trend. Johnson is a deep zone corner. He plays 5 or more yards back from receivers on most plays. Since Johnson is a very capable athlete this makes it hard for receivers to run by him when teams are trying to throw it deep. If Johnson can have another great season then he will have a case for being one of the best corners to ever play for the Quakers.

Safeties

(CSFL) Navy Sr Seamas Carrasco 2024 stats: 17tk 1.5tfl 4int 7pbu

Carrasco is one of the unquestioned leaders on the Navy defense. Heading into his final season Carrasco will be the anchor that holds down the Navy secondary. Carrasco’s skill set allows Navy to get creative with their defensive alignments and assignments. He has great instincts and can make plays on the ball when its in the air. He also makes timely touchdown saving tackles to keep his defense alive. Carrasco will be called upon to make big plays this year as Navy looks to have a good season and defeat their rival Army.

(CSFL) STAC Sr Ethan Hence 2024 stats: 58tk 4.5tfl 1sack 3pbu

Hence carries the burden of being one of the few seniors on a young Spartan’s roster. Because of this fact Hence will be called upon to be not only a leader but also a consistent and reliable play maker. As it currently stands Hence is one of the most versatile and capable defenders in the CSFL. He plays a unique role for his STAC defense. Hence is primarily a Nickle defender that covers slot receivers and helps set the edge in the run game. He can defend deeper parts of the field when called upon but his primary use in the STAC defense in near the line of scrimmage. Hence is unequivocally one of STAC’s best players and he should prove that throughout his final season as a Spartan.

(CSFL) CHC Jr Amir Jenkins 2024 stats: 32tk 8.5tfl 2.5sacks 2int 3pbu

Jenkins is another versatile defensive back that can give opposing offenses something to think about. Similar to STAC Safety Ethan Hence, Jenkins is adept at covering offensive players in the slot while also contributing to the Griffin’s run defense. Its not uncommon for Jenkins to make plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. Jenkins had more tackles for loss than many of his peers at his position. With Jenkins only heading into year 3 he has more room to develop, grow, and dominate for CHC. Jenkins could be due for an even better season heading into his junior year.

(MSFL) Quincy Jr Austin Moore 2024 stats: 20tk 2tfl 1sack 2int 5pbu

Quincy has one of the best safeties in the MSFL in Austin Moore. The third year DB plays a more traditional free safety role for the Hawks defense. You will often see Moore roving the deep parts of the field keeping everything in front and coming downhill to make plays. When teams do try to go deep Moore shows off good closing speed and technique to put himself in positions to make plays. Moore also shows a toughness when it comes to tackling. He may not be the most densely built safety but he shows a willingness to stick his face in the fire when its time to make a open field tackle. Moore will be a major player for a Quincy team that is looking to have a breakthrough year.
