Navy v STAC: Navy win 28-7

Player of the game- Navy Jr RB Hunter Gennicks 234yards 2TD 2rec 15yards

Navy used their stellar offensive line and phenomenal play from their star running back to wear down an upstart Spartans team. The Mids passing attack struggled mightily for the entire game. Jr QB Luke O’Connell threw for 61yards 2int. The catalyst for the team was none other than star tailback Hunter Gennicks who had a career high 234yards with 2TD. Gennicks 234 yards on the ground are the 12th most rushing yards in a game in sprint football history. The standout back has made a big statement in the first two weeks of the season. The guys on the outside struggled to get separation on the Spartans secondary all night. Sr Grant Sterchi led the team with 2rec 18yards.On defense the Mids leaders showed up to play. Sr LB Seamas Carrasco led the team with 9tk 2.5tfl 2pbu and Sr LB Jake Wolinski followed up with 7tk 1.5tfl 1sack 2int. Navy heads into their bye before they take on Mansfield.

STAC fought hard in this one but the lack of punch from offense and an inability to stop the run led to their defeat. Soph QB Tyler Harp threw for 143yards 2int. Harp was able to do some good things through the air but the lack of endzone production and turnovers stalled the Spartan’s offense.Soph RB Damari Hamilton led the team with 27yards and Trevon Washington added 24yards and the lone touchdown for STAC. Sr TE Nickolas Simonetta led the way on the outside with 4rec 37yards. On defense Jr LB Brandon Jimenez led the team with 9tk 1.5tfl 1sack 1pbu. Jr CB Prince Alvarado added 8tk 1int. STAC hits the road next week to take on Penn.


Molloy v Cornell: Molloy win 16-6

Player of the game- Jr QB Paulie Drummond 108yards 1TD 106rushing yards 1TD

There are a lot of high emotions in Rockville Centre New York as Molloy managed to get their first win in program history. Jr QB Paulie Drummond orchestrated a great performance as he led the Lions to victory. Drummond threw for 108yards 1TD and had a career high night on the ground running for 106yards 1TD. Drummond’s efforts at the helm were the catalyst for this win. Sr WR Peter von Schoenermarck led things on the outside with 4rec 62yards 1TD. Fr WR Jalen Gordon added 7rec 46yards. On defense Fr DB Ayden Das led the team with 8tk. Soph DL Joseph Spano impacted the front ending the game with 6tk 1tfl 1sack. Molloy hits the road next week to visit Army.

Despite being the more experienced team Cornell could not stop the Lions from making history. Jr QB Stefano Luis threw for 170yards. Despite the success in terms of yardage Cornell was unable to find the endzone through the air. Sr RB Anthony Rambino led the team with 42yards. Fr WR Emmanuel Garcia was able punch in a 13yard rushing touchdown for Cornel’s lone touchdown on the night. On defense the Big Red did what they could to keep a young Molloy team down. Jr DB Kruz Meier and Fr LB Jason Milo had 10tackles a piece and combined for 4.5tfl. Sr LB Alexi DiDonta wasnt far behind finishing with 9tk 3.5tfl 1sack 1pbu. Cornell heads home to welcome CHC next week.


Mansfield v Penn: Mansfield win 15-9

Player of the game- Soph QB Marcus Quaker 53passing yards 47rushing yards 1TD

The Mansfield offense struggled against a consistently strong Quakers defense but in the end, they were able to do enough to escape with the win. Soph QB Marcus Quaker didnt have his best day but he managed to lead the team to victory. The young QB threw for 53yards and ran for 47yards with 1TD. Fr RB Weston Bellows made his debut and led the team with 65rushing yards. Sr WR Eli Swan led things on the outside ending the game with 2rec 41yards. Defensively the Mountaineers were able to keep the Quakers off rhythm all night. Both Jr DB Antino Green and Fr DB Matt Machmer were able to grab 1interception a piece. At the time of writing this article these are the only defensive stats recorded in the official box score. Mansfield stays home next week to welcome Caldwell.

Penn was able to find some sparks of life throughout the game, but they could never quite get over the hump. Sr QB Jaxson Neild threw for a season high 176yards 1TD 2int. The Quaker’s running game was nonexistent. Jr RB JT Goodman mustered up 19 positive yards to lead the team. The lone driver for the Quakers offense was Soph WR Jason Sheairs who had a game and career high 143yards on 8rec with 1TD. On defense JR DB Josh Johnson was snagged 1int. At the time of writing this article these are the only defensive stats recorded in the official box score. Penn heads home to welcome STAC next week.


CHC v Caldwell: CHC win 42-35

Player of the game- Soph RB Xavier Limehouse 82rushing yards 2TD 2rec 13yards 1TD 67kick return yards

The Griffins followed up their explosive offensive game last week with another spectacular performance. Sr QB Anthony Cancellare shined again throwing for 277yards 3TD. Cancellare is off to a hot start to begin the season. His high level of play has helped make the Griffins one of the most electric offenses in sprint football. CHC was able to get things rolling on the ground too. Jr RB Lawrence Howard led the team with 94yards. His backfield partner Soph Xavier Limehouse refused to be outdone. Limehouse ended the night with 82rushing yards 2TD 2rec 13yards 1TD 67kick return yards. Thats 162 all-purpose yards for the young back. On the outside Jr TE Aiden Neff led the team with 4rec 91yards. Right behind him is star WR Kyree Griffin who finished with 3rec 88yards 1TD. Sr LB Lex Williams led the way on defense leading the team with 10tk. Sr LB Cam Goldsmith terrorized the Cougars offense ending the night with 6tk 3tfl 2sacks. The Griffins hit the road again next week to take on Cornell.

Caldwell showed how dangerous they can be in this back-and-forth game. Sr QB Jamiel Lawrence had the best game of his career throwing for 268yards 4TD and rushing for 127yards. Despite not having Soph QB and dynamic weapon Josh Smith, Lawrence was able to show how explosive this Cougar’s offense can be with him running the show. The Caldwell receivers also showed that the rest CSFL needs to be on notice. Sr WR Ajurn Petgrave led the team with 100yards on 6rec with 2TD. Sr WR Emaneul Laluz added 4rec 67yards 1TD and Soph WR Joey Ciccotelli added 9rec 65yards 2TD. On defense Soph DB Anthony Cummings led the team with 9tk. Jr DB John Vecchiarelli added 6tk 2pbu. Caldwell hits the road next week to visit Mansfield.


MSFL

Midway v Quincy: Midway win 41-12

Player of the game- Fr RB Damari Edelen 178yards 2TD

Midway continues their offensive assault on the rest of the MSFL. Soph QB Christian Carter excelled throwing for 332yards 4TD with just 1 interception. Carter has been off to the hottest start of any QB in MSFL this season. Fr RB Damari Edelen wowed in only his second career game. The young back ran for a game and career high 178yards 2TD. Edelen showed great speed, balance, power, and quickness throughout the game. The Eagles may have found another star on an already star-studded offense. On the outside the Eagle’s receivers continued to produce. Soph WR Chase Williams led the way with 4rec 136yards 3TD. William’s 3 receiving touchdowns tie him for the 3rd most receiving touchdowns in a game in sprint football history. Fr WR Quincy Barber added 3rec 75yards. Defensively Jr DL Trenton Leach and Sr DL Brady Bond combined for 16tk 1.5tfl 0.5sack 1pbu. 3interceptions from Sr DB Omarion Riddick, Sr DB Josiah Sander and Sr DB Preston Moore derailed Quincy’s comeback attempts. Midway hits the road next week to take on SMWC.

Quincy continues to show progress and potency on both sides of the ball despite not securing the victory in this one. Fr QB Kiet Truong threw for 354yards 1TD 3int. Despite the turnovers Truong’s level of play has cemented him as the QB1 for now and for the future for Quincy. The rushing attack was led by Sr RB CJ Jackson who led the team with 42yards 1TD. The receiving core was led by Jr Josiah Oliver-Ross who had a career day ending the game with 6rec 157yards 1TD. Jr WR Gregory Quince added 4rec 86yards. On defense Jr DL Kaden Buchholz continues his strong start to the season. Buchholz led the team with 8tk 4tfl. Quincy heads home next week to take on Bellarmine as both teams look to turn their seasons around.


SMWC v Oak: SMWC win 62-6

Player of the game- Zy’Eiar White 75yards 1TD

SMWC took the opening kickoff back for a score which was just the beginning of this one-sided outing. Sr QB Jeremiah Tosky was at the helm and despite two turnovers he was able to lead this offensive showcase. Tosky ended the day with 137yards 2TD 2int. Fr RB Zy’Eiar White led the way for the Pomeroys on the ground leading the team with 75yards 1TD. As a team the Pomeroys ended the game with a staggering 231yards 5TD. On the outside Jr WR Dameon Miller led the team with 5rec 54yards. Sr WR Corbyn Cleveland followed up with 3rec 56yards 2TD. Defensively the Pomeroys blanketed the Oaks from start to finish. Fr DL Brodie Smith finished with 4tk 3tfl 1sack. Fr LB John Taft led the team with 6tk 1ff 1fr. Fr DB Byran Simmons continues his assault on opposing quarterbacks. He ended the game with 3tk 2int with one being returned 88yards for a TD. SMWC welcomes Midway to Indiana for their second clash of the season.

Oakland City showed a flash or two on both sides of the ball but couldn’t do anything significant to stop the bleeding. Fr quarterbacks Jake Miller and Breaden Ellis combined for 70yards 4int. Ellis scored the lone touchdown for the Oaks on the ground. Soph WR Brendle Brennan led the team offensively with 2rec 46yards. On defense the lone spark plug was Fr DB Koleby Schroede who finished the game with 3tk 2int. Oakland City heads home to welcome CCSJ next week.


CCSJ v Bellarmine: CCSJ win 48-0

Player of the game- Sr LB Jared Cuevas Cottrell 8tk 3tfl 1sack 1pbu

CCSJ continues to roll on both sides of the of the ball. Jr QB Destry Peoples threw for 116yards 2TD 1int. As Peoples continues to improve the Crimson Wave offense will become even deadlier. On the ground the multi back attack continues to be CCSJ’s bread & butter. Jr RB Jamall Warnell led the team with 70yards 2TD. Right behind him was Jr RB Zaire Davis who added 54yards 1TD. Soph WR Nathanial Hoskins was the leading receiver on the outside with 2rec 72yards 1TD. On defense the Crimson Wave suffocated the Knights. Sr LB Jared Cuevas Cottrell led the team with 8tk 3tfl 1sack 1pbu. Sr DB Quindarious Davis added 6tk 1int. That is Davis’s 13th career interception which ties him for the most all time in sprint football history. CCSJ hits the road to take on Oakland City next week.

Bellarmine continues to struggle to find their footing. Offensively Fr QB Dylan Morris has not found the success that he had in week 1. Morris finished this game with 158yards 3int. The rushing attack was nonexistent with the Knights ending the game with -9 total rushing yards. Jr WR Morgan Capps tried to give Bellarmine some life late in the game. Capps finished with a game high 6rec 134yards. On defense Soph DB Logan Presley led the team with 8tk 0.5tfl. One of the lone highlights came from Soph DB Riley Mcgrath who finished the game with 4tk 1int 1pbu. Bellarmine hits the road next week to visit Quincy.
