Army v Molloy: Army win 49-0

Player of the game- Jr QB Kyle West 229yards 4TD 22rushing yards 1TD

Army took a commanding lead early in this game and never faltered. Jr QB Kyle West was sharp ending the game with 229yards 4TD. Soph RB Gabriel Bolivar led the team on the ground with 40yards 1TD. West was also able to punch in 1 score on the ground and add 22yards. Soph Carson McFadden led the team through the air with 2rec 82yards 2TD. These were McFadden’s first two receiving touchdowns of his career. The Army defense stopped Molloy for getting any momentum. Soph LB Samuel Curtis led the way with 9tk 1tfl 1sack. Army stays home for a matchup with Penn.

Molloy struggled in this game. The Lions were unable to sustain drives and turn momentum plays into points. Inconsistency through the air and the inability to establish the run was a combination the doomed the Lions. Unfortunately, the box score the Army has provided did not track stats for Molloy’s team. No stats for the Lions are available at the time this article was written. Molly hits the road again to visit CHC.


Penn v STAC: Penn win 15-14

Player of the game- Fr RB Xavier May 79rushing yards 1TD

Penn orchestrated a comeback by playing tough defense and making timely plays on offense. Sr QB Jaxson Nield threw for 53 yards 1TD. Despite the struggles passing the ball Nield’s lone touchdown was an important one for the Quakers as they fought back into the game. Fr RB Xavier May led the team from the backfield ending the night with a game high 79yards 1TD. May’s touchdown in the 3rd quarter was the difference that gave the Quakers the lead. His running partner Jr JT Goodman added 52yards. On the outside Sr WR Jake Wang led the team with 6rec 70yards 1TD. On defense the Quakers shook off a poor first quarter and responded by holding the Spartan’s offense scoreless for the rest of the game. Fr LB Ryan Goodrich led the team with 7tk 1tfl. Jr DB Josh Johnson added 3tk 1int. Penn hits the road next week to visit Army.

STAC started strong in this one, but the Spartans could not sustain that early game success. The game started off with a huge 95-yard kick return touchdown by Fr WR Trevon Washington. Soph QB Tynez Harp threw for 133yards 1int. Harp was able to find the endzone on the ground and add 19rushing yards. That would be the end of the scoring in the game for the Spartans. Sr TE Nickolas Simonetta led the team with 6rec 51yards. On defense the Spartans did hold the Quakers for most of the game, however they could not execute on crucial downs that led the Quaker touchdowns. Fr DB Armando Medley led the team with 8tk. Soph DB Dylan Honan followed up with 7tk. STAC hits the road again for a matchup with Caldwell.


Mansfield v Caldwell: Mansfield win 31-0

Player of the game- Soph QB Marcus Quaker 77yards 1TD 1int 113rushing yards 3TD

Mansfield dominated this game on both sides of the ball. It started a stopped with the play of Soph QB Marcus Quaker. The young play maker threw for 77yards 1TD 1int and ran for a game high 113yards with 3TD. Quaker was the engine that powered the Mountaineer’s offense. Fr WR Caleb Smith led the team on the outside with 1rec 36yards 1TD. On defense Soph LB Jackson Taylor led the team with 10tk 0.5tfl 0.5sack. Fr DB Matt Machmer and Jr DB Antonio Green both had 3tk and 1int. The Mansfield defense held strong all day halting every Caldwell attempt to get things turned around. Mansfield hits the road next week to visit Navy.

Caldwell had a tough go of things on both sides of ball. The usually explosive Cougars offense couldn’t match their earlier season performances. Soph QB Josh Smith threw for 113yards 1int.Sr RB Curt McDougald led the team in rushing with 51yards. On the outside the lethal Caldwell receivers were some of the only sources of offense for the Cougars. Sr WR Ajurn Petgrave led the team with 5rec 69yards. Sr WR Daruis Harrison added 4rec 41yards. Defensively Jr DB Yves Jean and Sr LB Kole Levy both had 6tk a piece. Levy also added 1tk 1sack. Soph LB Dean Fiore followed up with 5tk 0.5tfl 1int. Caldwell heads home for a clash with STAC.


CHC v Cornell: CHC win 34-12

Player of the game- Soph RB Xavier Limehouse 172yards 3TD

The Griffins clicked in every phase of the game which led to CHC rolling early in this one. Sr QB Anthony Cancellare threw for 164yards 2TD. The real engine for the team in this game was Soph QB Xavier Limehouse. The young running back continues to have a breakout campaign ending the night with a career high 172yards and a career high 3TD. On the outside Soph WR Winday Dawson led the team with 3rec 90yards 2TD. On defense the starters for the Griffins held Cornell scoreless. Soph LB Torey Moore led the team with 11tk. Sr LB Cam Goldsmith was a menace off the edge ending the game with 9tk 3.5tfl 2.5sacks. Jr DB Amir Jenkins added 5tk 1.5tfl 0.5sack 2pbu. CHC heads home for a matchup vs Molloy.

Cornell continues to struggle as they search for their first win of the season. Jr QB Stefano Luis had the best statistical game of his career despite the loss. Luis threw for 285yards 2TD 1int. Sr RB Anthony Rambino led the team on the ground with 41yards. On the outside the lone producer was Jr TE Andrew Lay who had a career night with 7rec 97yards 2TD. On the defensive side of the ball Fr LB Jason Milo led the team with 8tk. Jr LB Thomas Shegogue added 7tk 2.5tfl 1.5sacks. Cornell stays home to welcome Army.


MSFL

SMWC v Midway: SMWC win 27-20

Player of the game- Jr RB Derron Hazzard 112yards 1TD

The Pomeroy’s came out on top in this clash of potent offenses. Sr QB Jeremiah Tosky played up to his usual standard ending the game with 229yards 2TD. Tosky also added 1 rushing touchdown. Jr RB Derron Hazzard led the way on the ground finishing with 112yards 1TD. Hazzard’s spectacular 58yard touchdown run gave the Pomeroy’s the lead late in the game which proved to be the difference. Sr TE Kyle Vernelson led the way with 5rec 66yards. Sr WR Corbyn Cleveland followed up with 3rec 49yards 1TD. Corbyn has been Tosky’s favorite target especially when they get close to the redzone. On defense Fr LB Adonimi Parker led the way with 12tk 3tfl 1sack 1ff. Sr LB Bryton Suggs added 11tk 1.5tfl. SMWC heads into their bye before a clash with CCSJ.

Midway wowed on both sides of the ball however they came up just short in this highly competitive game. Soph QB Christian Carter continues to slice up opposing defenses. Carter threw for 271yards 1TD and added 58yards on the ground 1TD. Fr RB Demari Edelen followed up his fantastic performance last week with another great game leading the team with 102yards. The Eagles receivers continue to put on a show. Soph WR Ayden Bauwens led the way with 5rec 125yards 1TD and Fr WR Quincy Barber added 4rec 115yards. The pair continue prove they are the most dynamic duo in sprint football today. On defense the Eagles had some great performances. Jr LB Byron Wallace led the team with 11tk 1.5tfl 1sack. Jr DL Trenton Leach added 11tk 2tfl 1sack. Fr DL Tristian Euell was a wrecking ball in the backfield ending the game with 10tk 4tfl 1sack. Midway heads into the bye before they take on Quincy.


CCSJ v Oakland City: CCSJ win 37-0

Player of the game- Sr CB Quindarius Davis 3tk 1tfl 1int

It was more of the same for CCSJ in their second meeting with Oakland City. Soph QB Zayne Guthrie led the way with 70yards 1TD and Jr Destry Peoples added 33yards 1TD. The Crimson Wave could do whatever they wanted offensively but chose to keep things tame with no one ball carrier sticking out. Jr RB Jamall Warnell scored the lone rushing touchdown to kick things off for the Wave. Jr WR Kaydarious Jones led the team in receiving with 6rec 74yards 1TD. On defense CCSJ blanketed Oakland City at every turn. Sr LB Josh Tejeda led the team with 4tk 2tfl. The secondary really showed out for CCSJ. Sr CB Quindarius Davis had 3tk 1tfl 1int. That is the 14th career interception for Davis which now makes him the all-time leader in career interceptions in sprint football history. Soph DB Elijah Tyson snagged an interception and took it back 100yards to the house. CCSJ heads into the bye before they take on SMWC.

Oakland City wasn’t able to muster up much in this second game against CCSJ. Both Fr QBs Braeden Ellis and Caton Wilson combined for 37yards 2int. Wilson was the rushing leader for the Oaks with 48yards. Fr WR Daveon Gilmore led the team in receiving with 3rec 65yards. The biggest chunk plays in the game for the Oaks came from their young quarterback and receiver. On defense Jr LB Kanye Johnson led the team with 7tk 1tfl. Soph DB Jarivs Starks-Scott added 4tk 1tfl 1int. Oakland City hits the bye before they take on Bellarmine.


Bellarmine v Quincy: Bellarmine win 9-7

Player of the game- Sr RB Brenden Reid 113yards 1TD

The Knights used a strong run game to claw their way to victory despite turnovers and inconsistency in the passing game. Fr QB Dylan Morris struggled only throwing for 75yards with 2int. The one thing the Bellarmine offense had going was their effective run game spearheaded by Sr RB Brenden Reid. The star running back ran for 113yards 1TD. Reid acted as a sledgehammer as he chipped away at the Hawks defense. Fr TE Aiden Bratcher led the team through the air with 2rec 36yards. On defense the Knights did struggle to stop the run but timely turnovers and big stops were the difference in this game. Sr LB Caleb Murray led the team with 11tk. Sr DB Gavin Brazzell followed up with 8tk 1int 1pbu. Sr DB Lance Weiter also had 1int with 6tk. Bellarmine heads into the bye before they take on Oakland City.

Quincy was in this game until the very end. An untimely turnover proved to be the difference that decided the game. Much like their opponent the Hawks struggled to move the ball through the air. Fr QB Kiet Truong threw for 71yards 2int. The catalyst for the Hawks offense was Sr RB CJ Jackson who ran for a career high 182yards with 1TD. Jackson was the driving force on every offensive drive for the Hawks. Jr WR Gregory Quince led the team with 2rec 47yards. Defensively Quincy had big performances from their main guys. Sr LB Donnell Packer led the way with a game high 19tk 1.5tfl 1int. Jr DL Kaden Buchholz added 8tk 2tfl 0.5sack. Quincy hits the bye before they take on Midway.
