Navy v Molloy: Navy win 63-0

Player of the game: Navy Jr RB Hunter Gennicks 174yards 3TD

From the opening kickoff Navy controlled every aspect of the game. Jr QB Luke O’Connell threw for 115yards 1TD. The real catalysts for the Navy offense were Jr RB Hunter Gennicks and Soph RB Broderick Freeman. Gennicks set the tone early breaking apart the Lion’s defense and sustaining drives. He ended the game with 174yards 3TD. Freeman followed up with 145yards 1TD. Soph WR Jake Berger led the way on the outside with 4rec 36yards 1TD. The Navy defense also dominated. As a team Navy only allowed 4 first downs all game. Soph LB Connor Miltenberger led the way with 7tk and Fr LB Drake Murrell had a career night with 5tk 4tfl. Navy hits the road to take on Penn.

Molloy struggled to stop the bleeding on both sides of the ball. 3 quarterbacks lined up for the Lions. As a group they were only able to generate 59yards. The Molloy rushing attack was shut down. Molloy rushed for -2yards as a team. Sr WR Peter von Schoenermarck led the team with 7rec 45yards. On defense Sr ATH John Zarnowski was tied for a team high 9tk with 1int. Fr DB Ayden Das added 9tk 2tfl. Molloy hits the bye before they take on Penn at home.


Mansfield v Cornell: Mansfield win 27-13

Player of the game- Fr RB Weston Bellows 170yards 2TD 2rec 7yards

Mansfield used a consistent running game and sticky defense to overcome Cornell in this game. Soph QB Marcus Quaker made his return as the starting quarterback. Quaker threw for 102yards 2TD. The driver of the Mansfield offense was Fr RB Weston Bellows. The young running back ran for a career high 170yards with 2TD. Bellows has been a consistent offensive force for Mansfield all season. Fr Matt Machmer has been impactful on both sides of the ball. Machmer was the team’s leading receiver with 1rec 31yards 1TD and he added 1tk 1int. Soph LB Jackson Taylor was the other defensive standout finishing the game with 16tk 2tfl 1ff. Mansfield hits the road next week to take on CHC.

Cornell showed some life on offense, but inconsistent play still plagues the Big Red. Jr QB Luis Stefano threw for 241yards 1TD 2int. Despite the lack of wins Stefano has proven to be a competent quarterback in his first season as a starter. Cornell was held to just 45yards on the ground between 6 different rushers. On the outside Sr WR Leo Castellanos had a career day leading the team with 7rec 112yards. Defensively Fr LB Jason Milo led the way with 16tk. Fr DB Dylan Leaird followed up with 13tk 1tfl 0.5tfl. Cornell stays on the road to visit Caldwell.


Army v Caldwell: Army win 31-7

Player of the game- Soph RB Gabriel Bolivar 196yards 2TD

The Army running game led the way for the usual pass heavy offense. Jr QB Kyle West threw for 139yards 1int. The focal point for the Black Knight was Soph RB Gabriel Bolivar. Bolivar had a career night rushing for 196yards 2TD. He had a tough 62yard run that swung the momentum for Army. Jr RB JP Ross added 89yards 1TD.The receiving core was led by Jr WR Parker Williams who had a team high 57yards 3rec 1TD. The defensive star for Army was Jr DL Cameron Allen who had a team high 10tk 3.5tfl 2sacks.Soph DL Tyus Carter added 7tk 3tfl 05sack. Army heads home to take on STAC next week.

Caldwell used their dynamic passing attack to keep things interesting for most of the game, but the Cougars came up short in the end. Sr QB Jameil Lawrence threw for a game high 311yards 1TD 1int. Lawrence has had a career year so far in his final season for the Cougars. The Caldwell rushing attack couldn’t muster up much. As a team the Cougars only rushed for 13yards. The drivers of the bus were the Caldwell receivers. Sr WR Ajurn Petgrave led the way with 9rec 96yards. Soph WR Joey Ciccotelli added 4rec 85yards. On defense the usual guys made big plays for Caldwell. Soph LB Damian Tavares led the team with 14tk 1tfl. Fr DL Trever Stevenson added 8tk 1.5tfl. Caldwell stays home to take on Cornell.


CHC v Penn: CHC win 3-0

Player of the game- Sr LB Cam Goldsmith 7tk 3tfl 2sacks

CHC was able to come out on top in this drawn-out slugfest. Sr QB Anthony Cancellare threw for 224yards 2int. Despite the turnovers Cancellare’s ability to move the ball through the air was the difference in this game. Soph RB Xavier Limehouse led the ground game with 68yards. On the outside Sr WR Kyree Griffin got things going with 10rec 83yards. Griffin had 3 receptions on the final drive to help set up a game winning field goal by Jr K Brady Reynolds. On defense Sr LB Cam Goldsmith was a defensive menace leading the team with 7tk 3tfl 2sacks. Jr DB Amir Jenkins followed up with 3tk 2.5tfl 1sack. CHC stays home to welcome Mansfield next week.

Penn’s struggles offensively continue to make it difficult for them to win games. With no light in sight the Quakers have had Jr DB Josh Johnson at quarterback the last few weeks. Johnson threw for 91yards 2int. The running game has not been much better with the Quakers only rushing for 57yards as a team. The receivers were led by Sr Jake Wang who ended the game with 3rec 66yards. On defense Fr LB Hugh Mayley led the team with 8tk. Jr DB Josh Johnson added 6tk 1int. Penn heads home next week to take on Navy.


MSFL

SMWC v Quincy: SMWC win 47-20

Player of the game- Sr QB Jeremiah Tosky 147yards 3TD

SMWC took the lead midway through the 1st quarter and never looked back. Sr QB Jeremiah Tosky threw for 147yards 3TD. Tosky continues to drive the bus for the Pomeroy’s offense with his high level of play from the pocket. Sr RB Patrick Perea and Jr RB Derron Hazzard led the way on the ground. The pair combined for 106yards 1TD. As a team the Pomeroys rushed for 286yards 2TD. On the outside Jr WR Dameon Miller led the team with 3rec 43yards 1TD. On defense Fr LB Adonimi Parker led the team with 12tk 3tfl 1.5sacks 1pbu. SMWC heads home to take on Bellarmine.

Quincy continues to do whatever they can to try and get their first win of the season. In the Hawks search for an answer, they employed 2 quarterbacks in this game. Soph QB Ethan Harrison and Jr QB Duece Allaway combined for 165yards 1TD. Harrison was also the team’s leading rusher with 49yards 1TD. Jr WR Travon Hegler-Wright led the team on the outside with 3rec 58yards. On defense Jr LB Nicholas Hoffman led the team with 9tk. Jr DL Kyron Dunae added a strong 5tk 4tfl 1sack 1fr. Quincy hits to road to take on Oakland City in their final game of the season.


CCSJ v Bellarmine: CCSJ win 21-3

Player of the game- Jr RB Kaydarious Jones 79yards & Jr RB Jamall Warnell 41yards 2TD

CCSJ used a productive running game and stingy defense to secure victory against Bellarmine. Jr QB Destry Peoples threw for 66yards 1TD 1int. The guys who really drove the offense were Jr RB Kaydarious Jones and Jr RB Jamall Warnell. The pair combined for 130yards 2TD. Sr ATH Nino Barbosa led the team in receiving with 3rec 33yards 1TD. Barbosa’s touchdown came off a batted passes that was intended for one of his teammates. That was just the type of successful night the Crimson Wave were having on both sides of the ball. For the defense Sr LB Trevor Busse led the team with 6tk. Sr LB Josh Tejeda added 4tk 1.5tfl 1sack 1ff 1fr. CCSJ hits the road for a highly anticipated matchup vs Midway.

Bellarmine played tough defense to keep the game close, but their lack of offensive punch was the deciding factor in this game. Sr Vernon Duncan and Fr Dylan Morris both had shots at QB. The pair combined for 64yards. The running game was spearheaded by Sr RB Brenden Reid who had a team high 43yards. Fr WR Jaden Mostiller led the Knights with 1rec 34yards. Defensively the Knights made stands all night despite the final score. Jr DB Brady Neimeyer led the team with 7tk 1.5tfl. Sr DB Gavin Brazzell followed up with 6tk 3tfl. Bellarmine hits to road to take on CCSJ in their final regular season game.


Midway v Oakland City: Midway win 73-0

Player of the game- Soph QB Christian Carter 322yards 5TD 17rushing yards

Midway was unstoppable on both sides of the ball in this one-sided game. Soph QB Christian Carter threw for 322yards 5TD.Cater has been amazing for Midway this season and he should continue to put on a show as he makes a push for some all-time season records in sprint football history. Fr RB Demari Edelen also has a spectacular night rushing for 220yards 2TD. The standout freshman has been a great add to an already dangerous Eagles offense. Soph WR Ayden Bauwens had another impressive game ending the night with 6rec 189yards 2TD. Bauwens 695yards this season are the 4th most in Sprint Football history. The Midway defense was just as impactful. Jr DL Trenton Leach was tied for the team lead with 4tk and added 2tfl 1sack 1ff. Sr DB Preston Moore and Fr DB Martylan Boston combined for 2tk 4int three of which were returned for touchdowns. Midway gears up for a huge showdown vs CCSJ.

Oakland City had nothing to offer in this game. Fr Jake Miller and Fr Canton Wilson both had shots at quarterback. The pair combined for 25yards 5int. The Oaks had -37rushing yards as a team. Fr WR Daveon Gilmore had the longest play of the day with a 18yard rec. On defense the Oaks made the occasional play, but it did little to stop the avalanche that Midway put on them. Oakland City gears up to take on Quincy as both teams look for their first win of the season.
