CSFL

Army v STAC: Army win 56-0

Player of the game- Jr QB Kyle West 227yards 3TD 16rushing yards 1TD

Army jumped out to an early led a never looked back. Jr QB Kyle West threw for 227yards 3TD. Backup Soph QB Jeff Ryder came in during relief time and threw for 51yards 2TD. Soph RB Gabriel Bolivar led the team on the ground with 73yards. Jr RB JP Ross followed up with 64yards 1TD. On the outside the leader for the Army offense was Jr WR Parker Williams who had a game high 5rec 125yards 2TD. Defensively Army held the STAC offense down all game. The Spartans were able to generate 149yards in the air however they were held to -30 yards on the ground. Soph DL Tyrus Carter led the team with 6tk 1.5tfl 1sack. Soph DL Joseph Sobeski added 3tk 2.5tfl 2sacks. Army hits the road to take on Mansfield.

STAC struggled to get anything going on both sides of the ball. Soph QB Tynez Harp threw for 115yards. The Spartans weren’t able to generate anything positive on the ground ending the game with -30yards. Soph WR Jayderr Wilhite led the team with 3rec 51yards. On defense Jr DB Prince Alvarado led the team with 11tk 1tfl 1pbu. STAC gears up to take on Cornell on the road.


Navy v Penn: Navy win 36-21

Player of the game- Sr LB Jake Wolisnki 12tk 1.5tfl

Navy edged out Penn with controlled efficiency. Navy’s 359 total yards methodically chipped away at the Quakers defense. Jr QB Luke O’Connell threw for 232yards 2TD 1int. O’Connell also added 18yards on the ground with 1TD. The dominant Navy running game was held under their season average but still impactful enough to lead to a Navy victory. Jr RB Hunter Gennicks and Soph RB Broderick Freeman combined for 105yards 2TD. Soph WR Ibi Denson led the way on the outside with 6rec 91yards. Soph WR Biamungu Nkere followed up with 7rec 81yards 1TD. On the defensive side of the ball Navy was led by their experienced upperclassmen. Sr LB Jake Wolinski led the way with 12tk 1.5tfl. Sr DL Jensen Boyt added 6tk 3.5tfl. Jr DB Tucker Opdahl finished with 4tk 2int. Navy gears up to take on Caldwell at home.

Penn fought hard and kept things close, but the Quakers could not fine enough offensive success to close out the game. Jr ATH Josh Johnson continues to try and orchestrate something positive for the Penn offense. Johnson finished with 208passing yards 2TD 4int. Johnson has shown flashes of being a competent quarterback but the team’s deficiencies at other offensive positions make his job harder. The Quakers only turned out 39yards on the ground with 1TD scored by Fr RB Xavier May. Sr WR Jake Wang led the team on the outside ending the game with 7rec 108yards. Soph WR Jason Sheairs added 6rec 80yards 1TD. On defense Sr LB Gavin Griswald led the team with 10tk 3tfl. Penn gets ready for a matchup vs Molly on the road.


Caldwell v Cornell: Caldwell win 20-13

Player of the game- Soph QB Cael Zebrowski 337yards 1TD 1int

Caldwell used an explosive 4th quarter to secure the comeback victory. Sr QB Jameil Lawrence struggled to find his rhythm. The senior threw for 147yards 1int. Just before the end of the 1st half Soph QB Cael Zebrowski came in and orchestrated the come from behind victory. Zebrowski threw for a career high 337yards 1TD 1int. The Cougars run game wasnt not able to find much. 6 rushers contributed to the 54 Cougar’s rushing yards. As has been the case all season the Caldwell receivers showed up and showed out. Soph ATH Josh Smith led the way with 5rec 160yards 1TD. Sr WR Darius Harrison finished with 5rec 133yards. Sr WR Ajurn Petgrave added 9rec 114yards 2TD. On defense the Cougar linebackers set the tone. Soph LB Damian Tavares and Fr LB Hector Lopez combined for 26tk 2tfl 1pbu. Caldwell gears up to take on Navy on the road.

Cornell looked like they were on the way to their 1st victory of the season. A Caldwell comeback halted those plans. Jr QB Luis Stefano threw for 157yards. The driver of the Cornell offense this game war Jr Kruz Meier. Usually a defensive back, Meier got the nod as the lead ball carrier. Meier ran for a game high 118yards 1TD. Sr ATH Julian Dahl led the team in receiving with 3rec 61yards. On the defensive side of the ball the Big Red were on their way to a shutout until the defense broke. Soph DL Ben Roerden led the team with 7tk 1tfl 1sack. Fr DB Dylan Leaird added 6tk 3pbu Cornell gets ready to take on STAC at home


Mansfield v CHC: Mansfield win 32-21

Player of the game-Fr RB Weston Bellows 253yards 2TD

Mansfield won this game with timely defensive plays and an incredible run game. Soph QB Marcus Quaker threw for 52yards and ran for 31yards 1TD. While those numbers were tame by most standards, one of Quaker’s teammates picked up the offensive slack. Fr RB Weston Bellows had a career night. Bellows ran for a career high 253yards 2TD. That performance is good for 6th most in a game in sprint football history and ties the most in a game in Mansfield history. Fr WR Matt Machmer led the team on the outside with 2rec 59yards 1TD. On defense Soph LB Jackson Taylor led the team with 8tk 1tfl. Sr DL Ian Mapp was a force upfront with 3tk 2tfl 2sacks. Mansfield heads home to take on Army.

CHC had their chances to win this game, but the Griffins came up short. Sr QB Anthony Cancellare threw for 160yards 2TD 1int. Soph RB Xavier Limehouse paced the Griffins on the ground with 73yards 1TD. The leading receiver for the Griffins was Jr TE Aiden Neff who finished with 6rec 58yards 2TD. Neff has been one of the best tight ends in sprint football and should continue to be a focal point for the Griffin’s offense. Defensively the Griffin’s front did what they could to try and slow down the Mansfield running game. Sr LB Lex Williams led the team with 13tk 0.5tfl. Soph LB Riley Stidham added 10tk 1tfl. CHC hits their bye before they take on STAC to end the season.


MSFL

Quincy v Oakland City: Quincy win 34-0

Player of the game- Sr RB CJ Jackson 201yards 4TD

With a strong showing from their veteran players Quincy walks away with their first win of the season. Jr QB Deuce Allaway and Soph QB Ethan Harrison combined for 205yards 3int. The catalyst for the Hawks was their lead back Sr CJ Jackson. In the final game of his career Jackson ran for a Hawks single game record 201yards with a program single game record 4TD. Jackson ends his career as the best offensive player the Hawks have had during their time in the MSFL. Jr WR Gregory Quince led the way on the outside with 4rec 85yards. The Hawk’s defense was not outdone. They kept Oakland City out of the endzone and forced 4 turnovers. Sr LB Donnell Packer finished with 6tk 3tfl 1pbu. Soph LB Joel Campos also had 6tk with 1tfl 1sack. The successful day extended to the special teams as well. P/K Jensen Laughlin executed a successful drop kick PAT, the first in program and MSFL history. Quincy ends their season with a 1-6 record.

Oakland City has had their struggles all season long and this game was no different. Fr QB Canton Wilson and Fr QB Jake Miller combined for 77yards 3int. Jr RB Robert Lamar led the team in rushing with 19yards. Soph WR Brendle Brennan led the team in receiving with 2rec 52yards. On defense Soph LB Dylan Grant and Jr LB Kanye Johnson combined for 18tk 1pbu. Oakland City ends their season with a 0-7 record.


Midway v CCSJ: Midway win 22-19

Player of the game- Soph QB Christian Carter 234yards 2TD 1int 17rushing yards 1TD

Midway fought with every ounce of strength they had to secure the first win against CCSJ in program history. Soph QB Christian Carter continues his historic season ending the game with 234yards 2TD 1in 17rushing yards 1TD. Carter’s rushing touchdown late in the 4th was the deciding factor in the victory. Fr RB Deondre Henry had his number called and did not disappoint. The young back ran for 102yards on the day. Fr WR Quincy Barber led the team with 5rec 92yards 1TD. Soph WR Chase Williams added 5rec 86yards. Big defensive performances also contributed to the win. Sr DB Preston Moore led the team with 10tk 2int 1pbu. Jr LB Byron Wallace added 9tk 2.5tfl. Midway must flip the switch and prepare as they will have a rematch with CCSJ next week on the road.

CCSJ came up just short of the win in this tightly contested game. The Crimson Wave used three different quarterbacks in the game. Soph Zayne Guthrie, Jr Destry Peoples, and Sr Nino Barbosa all had their time at the helm. The trio combined for 132yards 2int. On the ground the Crimson Wave relied on multiple ball carriers throughout the game. Jr Jamall Warnell led the way with 45yards 1TD. Sr Nino Barbosa added 39yards 1TD. Soph TE Xavier Haralovich was the team’s leading receiver with 1rec 60yards. The stout CCSJ defense almost come out with the victory for the Crimson Wave. Sr LB Trevor Busse led the team with a game high 12tk 1tfl. Sr LB Jared Cuevas Cottrell added 10tk. CCSJ will ice up and welcome Midway to Indiana for a rematch in the MSFL Playoffs.


SMWC v Bellarmine: SMWC win 35-7

Player of the game- Jeremiah Tosky 177yards 2TD 1int 7rushing yards

SMWC used their balanced offensive attack and big defensive plays to win the regular season finale against Bellarmine. Sr QB Jeremiah Tosky had a tame game by his standards but was still effective enough to get the win. Tosky threw for 177yards 2TD. The Pomeroy’s running game was able to turn out yards all day. The 8 rushers were able to total 172yards on the ground. On the outside Soph Xander Hunt led the way with 6rec 63yards. Aside from the one score the Pomeroy’s defense was able to frustrate Bellarmine all day. Sr LB Bryton Suggs led the team with 9tk 1tfl 1sack 1fr(TD). Sr DB Kerry Lacey added 4tk 2int. Soph LB Adonimi Parker continues to shine in his return to SMWC ending the game with 4tk 1tfl 1sack 1pbu and a 17yard blocked punt return TD. SMWC stays home to for a rematch next week against Bellarmine in the MSFL playoffs.

Bellarmine was able to do some positive things on offense but struggled to stop the bleeding once SMWC got rolling. Fr QB Dylan Morris threw for 116yards 3int. Turnovers has plagued Morris all season. It is common on a young quarterback’s journey but Bellarmine will need him to be sharp if they hope to upset SMWC next week. Sr RB Brenden Reid led the way for the Knights with 84yards 1TD. Reid was also the Knight’s leading receiver 2rec 43yards. Soph LB Brian Pruitt led the team with 11tk 1pbu. Soph DB Riley McGrath added 6tk 1tfl 1fr 3pbu. Bellarmine gears up for vengeance in a rematch with SMWC next week.
