Navy v Caldwell: Navy win 56-14

Player of the game- Jr RB Hunter Gennicks 131yards 3TD 2rec 22yards

After a close first half Navy busted the door open in the 3rd quarter to cruise to victory. Jr QB Luke O’Connell did not offer much in the passing game. He finished the game with 56yards 1int. The catalyst of the offense was once again the offensive line and star back Hunter Gennicks. The talented junior ran for 131yards 3TD. Gennicks has had one of the best seasons in sprint football history as he as eclipsed 1000yards in the season. With one game remaining he should further his legacy. The Navy defense forced 5 turnovers which made it hard for Caldwell to comeback. Sr LB Seamus Carrasco and Jr DL Mick Tabor both had 7 tackles each. Tabor also added 2.5tfl and 1.5sacks. Jr DB Sean Bettwy added 5tk 1int 1pbu. Navy hits to road to take on Army for the CSFL Championship next week.

Caldwell had their opportunities in this game, but turnovers proved to be the deciding factor. Soph QB Cael Zebrowski led the team at the helm ending the night with 200yards 2TD 2int. The Cougars ground game struggled with 5 rushers contributing to the 42yards as a team. The main force for the Caldwell offense was star Sr WR Ajurn Petgrave. The big outside threat ended the game with a program record 10rec for 107yards. Petgraves 10 catches are good for the 4th most in sprint football history. On defense Soph LB Damian Tavares, Sr DL Jorge Gonzales, and Fr DL Edmound Anderson each had 8tk. Caldwell ends their season with a 4-4 record.


Penn v Molloy: Penn win 14-0

Player of the game- Soph WR Jason Sheairs 7rec 99yards

Penn used timely offense and a stout defense to close out this game. Jr ATH Josh Johnson continues to do what he can for the Quakers on both sides of the ball. Johnson threw for 184yards 1TD 3int. Johnson also ran for 20yards with 1TD. The main driver of the offense was Soph WR Jason Sheairs who led the team with 7rec 99yards. Sr WR Jake Wang added 3rec 70yards 1TD. On defense Sr LB Gavin Griswold led the team with 9tk 1.5tfl 1sack. Penn heads home next week to take on Cornell.

Molloy had their chances in this game, but they could never get things rolling. Jr QB Paulie Drummond got the start at QB for the Lions. He threw for 118yards. Drummond was also the team’s leading rusher with 39yards on the ground. The leading receiver for the Lions was Sr WR Peter von Schoenermarck. He ended the game with 4rec 54yards. On defense Soph LB Marquis Dixon led the team with 8tk 4.5tfl 1.5sacks. Soph DB D’Angelo Cabrer added 5tk 1tfl 1sack 2ff 1fr. Sr John Zarnowski added 4tk 2int 1pbu. Molloy stays home to welcome Mansfield next week.


STAC v Cornell: STAC win 18-17

Player of the game- Soph RB Damari Hamilton 130yards 1TD

STAC used stifling defense to come out after the 1st half and win this tightly contested game. Soph QB Tynez Harp had one of his better games of the season throwing for 161yards 1TD. The driver of the bus for the Spartans in this game was Soph RB Damari Hamilton who ran for a game high 130yards 1TD. On the outside Soph WR Aaron Cruz led the team with 1rec 76yards. On defense the Spartans made it hard for Cornell to sustain success. Jr LB Brandon Jimenez led the team with 14tk 2tfl. Sr DL Ibrahim Conteh added 5tk 1tfl 1int(TD). STAC will end their season next week at home vs CHC.

Cornell was in it for the entirety of the game, but STAC made more plays late to secure victory. Jr QB Stefano Luis struggled throwing for 97yards. Fr Kyle Melkonian got some time but did not do much better throwing for 23yards 2int. Jr ATH Kruz Meier led the team on the ground with 71yards 1TD. The receiving core was led by Sr Julian Dahl and Fr Kyle Melkonian who combined for 9rec 86yards. On defense Cornell showed flashes but couldn’t get it done in the end. Fr DB Dylan Leaird and Sr LB Alexei DiDonato had 7tk each. DiDonato also had 2tfl 2ff 1fr 1pbu. Cornell ends their season next week in a clash with Penn.


Army v Mansfield: Army win 21-14

Player of the game- Fr WR Marek Arbogast 3rec 95yards 1TD

Army needed everything they could muster to escape with the win. Jr QB Kyle West led the way with 219yards 1TD 1int. West also added one score on the ground in the 4th quarter which proved to be the deciding factor. Soph RB Gabriel Bolivar led the rushing attack with 54yards 1TD. As a team Army ended the game with 115rushing yards 2TD. The most explosive player for Army was Fr WR Marek Arbogast. The young receiver had the best game of his career leading the receiving core with 3rec 95yards 1TD. On defense Sr LB Louis Petkus led the team with 10tk. Army gears up to take on Navy next week for the CSFL Championship.

Mansfield kept in close until the very end but came up just short. Soph QB Marcus Quaker threw for 97yards 1int. The guy who has given this Mansfield offense life week in week out has been Fr RB Weston Bellows and this game was no different. Bellows ran for a game high 120yards 2TD. The leading receiver was Jr Logan Hawley, he ended the game with 1rec 36yards. Defensively Soph LB Jackson Taylor had an incredible day. The star LB had a career high and program record 19tk.That is good for the 5th most in a game in sprint football history passing MU legend Jake Myers. Sr DB Noah Bennett added 9tk 1fr 1int. Mansfield hits the road next week to take on Molloy.


MSFL

SMWC v Bellarmine: SMWC win 41-14

Player of the game- Soph LB Adonimi Parker 10tk 4tfl 1int

SMWC heads back to the MSFL title game thanks to a balanced offensive attack and tough defense. Sr QB Jeremiah Tosky threw for 167yards 2TD 2int. The ground game was very balanced and efficient with 8 rushers contributing to the 169yard 3TD day. Fr Zy’Eiar White, Jr Derron Hazzard, and Sr Patrick Perea all found the endzone. Sr TE Kyle Vernelson led the way on the outside with 3rec 66yards. On the defensive side of the ball the Pomeroys really showed up in the second half. Soph LB Adonimi Parker had a day leading the team with 10tk 4tfl 1int. Jr LB Holtman Doades added 7tk 1tfl 1int. SMWC will host CCSJ next week for the MSFL title game.

Bellarmine was able to keep things close in the first half, but the team could not find any success in the second half. Sr Vernon Duncan got the start at QB. Duncan threw for 251yards 1TD 3int. Duncan was also the team’s leading rusher with 47 yards on the ground. Sr RB Brenden Reid added 14yards 1TD. Reid ends his career as one of the best running backs to ever play sprint football. Jr WR Morgan Capps led the receiving core with 7rec 109yards 1TD. Defensively the Knights looked good in the first half, but they struggled to get stops in the second. Soph DB Riley McGrath, Sr LB Caleb Murray, Soph LB Brian Pruitt, and Fr LB Blake Draper each had 6tk each.


CCSJ v Midway:CCSJ win 19-7

Player of the game- Sr LB Trevor Busse 12tk 1int

CCSJ was able to avenge their last week loss against Midway in the first round of the MSFL Playoffs. Soph QB Zayne Guthrie got the start and threw for 72yards 1TD 2int. The offensive success for CCSJ came on the ground. Jr RB Jamall Warnell led the way with 56yards 2TD. Jr ATH Kaydarious Jones led the receiving core with 3rec 39yards. On defense the Crimson Wave star studded senior group showed out in one of their last games together. Sr LB Trevor Busse led the way with 12tk 1int. Sr LB Josh Tejeda added 7tk 2.5tfl 1.5sack 1fr. Sr LB Alexander Dellaechaie followed up with 5tk 1.5tfl 1.5sacks. Soph DB Elijah Tyson was a menace in the secondary finishing the game with 6tk 2int 2pbu. CCSJ hits the road next week to take on SMWC in one final matchup for the MSFL title.

Midway came up just short in this tough game. Star Soph QB Christian Carter threw for 123yards 1TD 4int. Carter was also the team’s leading rusher with 79yards. While this was not the way Carter would have hoped to end the year, that does not take away to spectacular season that he has had. Soph WR Ayden Bauwens led the team with 3rec 64yards 1TD. Bauwens also had a season that won’t soon be forgotten. The offensive future is a bright one for Midway. On defense Soph LB Trenton Everett led the team with 8tk 3tfl 1sack 1ff. Jr DL Trenton Leach added 6tk 3tfl 1sack. Jr DB Keegan Hill showed up ending the night with 3tk 2int. Midway ends their season with a 5-3 record.
