Week 4 Review
Penn vs Cornell: Penn win 63-0
Player of the game: Jr QB Andrew Paolini 119yards 2TD 122 rushing yards 4TD
The Quakers took a commanding lead early in the game. Early passing woes forced Penn to go to the ground game spearheaded by Sr RB Laquan McKever. The star running back finished with 164yards 2TD. Despite those gaudy numbers the player of the game was Jr QB Andrew Paolini who finished with 119yards 2TD 122rushing yards 4TD. Both Mckever and Paolini had some jaw dropping runs that sucked the air out of the Cornell defense. Not to be out done the Penn defense had its fair share of spectacular performances. Jr LB Lewis Evans led the way with 15tackles 2TFL 0.5sacks. Fr LB Jake Inserra wasn’t far behind with 12tackles 1.5tfl. Jr DL Travis Legum had his best game of the season finishing with 6tackles 3tfl 2sacks, Legum was a presence up front all night for the Quakers. Penn travels to Chestnut Hill next week for their 3rd away game in 4 weeks.
Cornell couldn’t muster up much in any phase of the game. The offense generated 144yards while the defense gave up 470yards and gave up 9 touchdowns. Multiple punt team collapses did not do the defense any favors giving Penn a short field on multiple drives. Despite the low offensive numbers Jr RB Jacop Wynkoop continues to be only of the only reliable weapons for the offense. Wynkoop finished with 46 rushing yards and 34 receiving yards. On the defensive side of the ball Jr DB Nate Roy was a bright spot. Roy has been one of the more effective defensive players for Cornell this season and this game was no different. Roy finished with 6tackles 1tfl 1sack. Cornell heads back home next week to welcome St Thomas Aquinas.
Mansfield v St Thomas Aquinas: Mansfield wins 35-29(3 OT)
Player of the game Fr QB Cahsid Raymond 204yards 199rushing yards 3TD
Mansfield won one of the most exciting games in CSFL history. A thrilling 3 overtime classic. The win is made even more incredibly when you account for the fact that Mansfield was down 22-7 at halftime. The spectacular Fr QB Cahsid Raymond excelled once again finishing with 204yards 199rushing yards 3TD. That marks Raymond’s 4 consecutive game with 150+passing yards and 100+rushing yards. It is also Raymond’s 4th straight game of 100+rushing yards. The defense did its part to help win this thriller. Fr LBs Gage Aumick and Gavin Hinman combined for 16tackles. Sr LB Chase Moser only added 2tackles, but a timely interception helped propel Mansfield to the win. Next week Mansfield heads back home to welcome Army.
The STAC passing attack continues to be the driving force of this team. Fr QB Dennis Riordan threw for 303yards 3TD while also adding 32 rushing yards 1TD. This is the 3rd straight game Riordan has thrown for 3+ touchdowns. Jr Mahki Matthews and Fr Hassan Blakney continue to do their part as well. The pair combined for 11rec 166 yards. On the defensive side of the ball for STAC the usual contributors continue to produce. Sr DL Tyreke Smith led the defense with 10tackles 0.5tfl. Jr LB Malik Lucas had another impressive game adding 9tackles 0.5tfl. The STAC defense as a unit had their best game in my opinion. Despite hold AB to 0 points last week this performance was much more revealing. Not enough good things can be said about the defensive players for both teams after this game of for the ages. STAC heads in state CSFL North member Cornell.
Navy v Alderson Broaddus: Navy WIN 65-10
Player of the game- Jr RB Alex Totta 101yards 2TD
Navy finishes the weekend with another impressive performance. Sr QB William Leong got the start on Saturday and produced with a star-studded cast. The first-time starter threw for 268yards 1TD. The two headed monster that is Sr RB Matthew Mcgee and Jr RB Alex Totta continue to terrorize defense across the league. The two combined for 176yards 4TD. Another player who continues to prove their worth is Soph WR Andrew Margiotta. The young star receiver hauled in 6passes for 139yards, his 2nd 100+ yard game of the season. Defensively it was another well-balanced attack. Fr LB Major Kent led the team in tackles with 10 and 1.5tfl. Jr LB Paul Kuehler led the first unit with 8tackles 2.5tfl. Navy takes a break next week before they welcome Cornell.
The growing pains continue for AB. Saturday marked the 3rd straight game they’ve given up 30+ points. Despite the shortcomings some stars continue to shine through. Jr QB Timmy Tillman threw for 192yards. Fr Blake Baxter finished with 2rec 102yards and Jr WR Shamon Gennes continues to produce finishing with 8rec 95yards 1TD. Fr LB Dalton Dunkle had himself a day leading the team in tackles with 15. AB visits Caldwell for the first-time next week as they look to get back on track.
Chestnut Hill v Caldwell: Caldwell win 24-3

A season of firsts continues for Caldwell. After beating Cornell for the first time in program history last week the Cougars doubled up on that effort beating CHC for the first time in program history. Jr QB Frank DeMaio continues to be a steady hand leading the team finishing with 114yards 1 TD 31rushing yards. The catalyst for the offense this game was Sr RB Carl Watson who had his highest rushing total of the season totaling 121yards on the ground with 1TD. The Sr has been a constant force for the Cougars since his freshmen year and now has led the team to their best start in program history.
