Breakout Watch List (Offense)

Soph Penn RB Tom Rebstock- 66rushing yards 1TD 8rec 83yards 2TD

Rebstock should undoubtably RB1 as we head into the 2022 season. With the graduation of standout RB Laquan McKever there should be plenty of carries for Rebstock. In a complementary role Rebstock showed that he can be a reliable ball carrier and has the skill to be a much better receiver than past Penn RBs. The question is will he will become a top tier RB like the elite backs to play at Penn before him. A strong sophomore season could send him down that path.

Jr Army QB Mikal Willeke-449passing yards 6TD 62% 1rushing TD

The end of the 2021 season could be a sign of things to come for Willeke and the Army offense. As the season went on a noticeable transition from former QB JC Watson began to take place. This culminated in Willeke taking over for Watson full time in the 2nd half of the championship game against Navy. Willeke also scored the only touchdown for Army in that game. His two 3touchdown performances show that he has the touch, IQ, and arm strength to be the most talent QB Army has had in quite some time. If Willeke can prove those performances weren’t just flukes, then he can make some noise amongst a strong crop of QBs heading into this season.

Soph Penn WR Jake Wang- 15rec 192yards

Wang recorded at least 1 reception in 6 of the 7 games Penn played last season. A stacked group of skill players that included WR Brendan McCaffrey, TE Ben Klaus, and RB Laquan McKever, meant that Wang was often the fourth of fifth option for the Penn offense. With all three of the aforementioned players moving on Wang should be one of the primary targets heading into this season. It will be interesting to see if Wang takes on a traditional outside receiver role or moves inside to the slot. No matter the role Wang takes on he should be one of the primary targets for stud QB Andrew Paolini.

Soph Cornell WR/ATH Evan Nicholas-21rec 272yards 3TD 98rushing yards

Nicholas was one of the only bright spots for the Cornell offense last season. He was the team’s leading receiver and second leading rusher. Nicholas used his size and explosiveness to do everything he could for team last year. While that didn’t translate to a lot of wins, he definitely showed how impactful he can be. This extended to special teams as well when he kicked a 25yard FG in the first game of the year against Mansfield. Nicholas will undoubtably be one of the primary catalysts for his team and could be one of the best receivers and all-purpose players in the league.

Soph Chestnut Hill WR/ATH Lonnie Cebulski-9rec 116yards 1passing TD 2rushing TD 1KR TD

Cebulski is another guy who had to do a lot for his team last season even though it didn’t translate to a lot of wins. That being said he proved to be one of the most versatile and explosive players in the league last season. Cebulski lined up at QB,WR,and KR at different points throughout the year and showed how effective he could be at all three. Once he transitioned to WR he quickly became CHC most explosive playmaker. With a year at WR under his belt and a good off-season Cebulski could turn into one of the best players in the league.
