2022 Watch List (Offensive Lines)

Navy

Historically Navy has always been a good running team. With the emergence of Jr QB Brendon Atwood and Jr WR Andrew Margiotta a dangerous passing attack has been formed as well. Another reason for optimism for the Navy front is their youth and experience. Only one player who started in the championship game wont be returning due to graduation, OL Shane Fagan. Jr OL Liam Brown, Sr OL Mark Postma, Sr OL Ryan Kenneally, and Jr OL Patrick Palm will all be back and should make a great core upfront. A mix of new guys to sprinkle in throughout the year should make for a balanced and deep offensive line. Look for Navy to continue to be effective on offense starting with a great offensive line.

Army

Similarly, to their on the field counterpart Army returns a group of young linemen that can be the foundation of their offense. With guys like, Jr OL Alec Wells, Jr OL Treyton Thomas, and Sr OL Tim D’Antonio returning Army should only have one or two question marks when it comes the offensive line. With star Sr WR Donovan Mannion returning as one of the best players in the CSFL and Jr QB Mikal Willeke looking like he could be the best QB prospect Army has had in some time Army should continue to give opposing defenses a challenge.

Quincy

Quincy is the first MSFL team to make my preseason lists. With the MSFL entering their inaugural season there is the element of the unknown covering all of the teams in the league which limits my ability to project what teams and players will look like. I am eagerly looking forward to the start of the season to begin highlighting and covering these new fantastic teams and players. That being said Quincy is in the unique situation of having a proven CSFL player on their team. Soph OL Derek Michelman transferred from Caldwell after having a great season starting at center and helping lead Caldwell to a program best 5-2 record. The rest of the Quincy offensive line will be young freshmen and sophomores but having a proven all league player on the offensive line will help guide the young team as they look to compete in the MSFL.

Caldwell

Caldwell is coming off their best season in program history (5-2). Despite losing Soph OL Derek Michelman the Cougars return a lot of experience upfront. Sr OL Hunter Pein, Jr OL Micah Chudowski, Sr OL Andres Gonzales, and Soph OL Chris Lohrmann make for a very experienced offensive line. Caldwell finished last season as one of the best rushing teams in the CSFL. Expect a similar performance from them this year as Caldwell looks to continue their winning ways.
