Names to Know:LB
Quincy Gr Donnell Packer-2025 85tk 8.5tfl 3int 8pbu
Despite the lack of team success last season Packer showed that he is one of the best linebackers in sprint football. Packer led the MSFL in tackles and had the 2nd most tackles in all of sprint football last season. The skills Packer uses on the wrestling mat have translated to the field. The elite backer plays with great quickness and tenacity in the run game. His understanding of leverage and positioning is clear as soon as you turn on the tape. Packer is also maybe the best coverage backer in the game. Packer has established himself as one of the best defensive players in sprint football. Packer is the clear defensive leader for a Quincy team looking to get things back on track.

Midway Sr Byron Wallace- 54tk 10tfl 3.5sacks
Wallace proved that he is just what the Eagles need on the 2nd level of their defense. Fast, strong, and relentless Wallace possess all the qualities that a top linebacker has. The seasoned defender is lucky enough to play with some elite company like Soph DL Tristian Euell up front and experienced players like Sr DB Keegan Hill behind him. While the Eagles team is loaded everywhere Wallace has proven that he is a star in his own right. Unlike some backers across the MSFL and CSFL Wallace had more solo tackles than assisted tackles last season. This really moves the needle when looking at who are the best players at their position. Wallace is primed to have a big senior season as the Eagles try to win it all in the MSFL.

Penn Jr Colin Cross-2025 68tk 4tfl 1.5sacks 1int 2pbu
Cross continues a strong tradition of talented linebackers to play for the Quakers. On the field Cross even looks like many of the guys who came before him. Solid, quick, intelligent, and efficient Cross has proven that he is a top linebacker in the CSFL. Cross gets sideline to sideline with the best of them. Using all the tools at his disposal Cross led the Quakers in tackles last season as a sophomore. At times Cross makes plays so fast you wonder if he was in the film session with the opposing team. Going into year 3 cross should be even better as he helps lead the charge for a Penn team hoping to return to their former glory.

Mansfield Jr Jackson Taylor-2025 91tk 8.5tfl 1sack
Taylor is a textbook example of what a great linebacker should be. Strong, tough, violent, and possessing leadership qualities Taylor has the full package. Taylor was passed the torch from legendary Mansfield backer Matt Robert. It’s not uncommon to see Taylor make a play that looks eerily similar to what Robert was able to do. Despite the similarities the stud linebacker has started to carve out his own legacy. Last season Taylor led all of sprint football in total tackles. He also broke the Mansfield record for tackles in a game with 19 against Army last season. If that wasn’t great enough Taylor had double digit tackles in 5 games last season. Taylor is arguably the best linebacker in the game heading into year 3. Mansfield is lucky to have another generational talent captaining their defense.

STAC Sr Brandon Jimenez- 2025 76tk 6tfl 1.5sacks
Jimenez heads into his final year as one of the unquestioned leaders of the Spartans defense. The seasoned outside backer has everything that a coach would want in a defensive leader at that position. Jimenez flies all-round the field. He can chase guys down often saving big plays or touchdowns, meet ball carriers in the tunnel of truth, and make plays at and behind the line of scrimmage. Coming off of a huge junior season in which he set a new program record for tackles in a season, Jimenez has a chance to have an even bigger senior year. With Jimenez driving the bus the Spartans defense may be able to get back to their winning ways.
